Community Social Impact Specialist


Visit.org is looking for a passionate and ambitious Community Social Impact Specialist to join our remote team. The Community Social Impact Specialist will be responsible for expanding our network of partner nonprofits and social ventures, with a strong focus on the Washington, D.C. area, and working closely with them to design and build high-quality social impact experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong nonprofit background, business mindset, and a passion for creating social impact through technology. They should be comfortable wearing multiple hats, possess excellent relationship-building skills, and have a strong drive to make the impossible happen. The right candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, extreme passion for our mission, and the energy and discipline to come in and be a builder in a start-up tech environment. 


In this role, you'll empower nonprofit organizations by helping them create unique, impactful experiences at no cost to them. You'll provide genuine support to these organizations, fostering a relationship and enabling them to build a new income channel by crafting impactful experiences that will live on the Visit.org [1] platform.


Please note: This is a remote role that will require some local visits to organizations for location site scouting, relationship building with nonprofits, and on-site event support as needed in the Washington, D.C., area.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assessing and understanding the needs of the local community and how our social impact experiences can make a meaningful impact 
  • Develop and lead strategic recruitment efforts for partner nonprofits and social ventures in primarily the Washington, D.C. region.
  • Onboard organizations, complete site and location assessments, and provide additional training to prepare them for hosting high quality experiences 
  • Build and maintain relationships with partner organizations, acting as the primary liaison between them and Visit.org.
  • Collaborate with partner organizations to design and build social impact experiences, ensuring high quality experiences and tangible social impact.
  • Help prepare NPOs to offer high-quality events by providing supportive training and communications, and utilize feedback to improve experiences.
  • Attend virtual and in-person experiences and events and act as support staff. 
  • Maintain up-to-date records in Salesforce, analyze data, and use technology tools to enhance recruitment and experience building efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support experiences, event delivery, organization training, payments, etc…
  • Maintain knowledge of partner organizations and company offerings in the region.
  • Assist in identifying key performance indicators and scalable processes, supporting implementation of new systems and processes.
  • Act as on-site event staff support for in-person events local to your region, as needed. 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience working in the nonprofit, NGO, or social impact sector, preferably in Washington, D.C.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced or startup environment is a plus
  • Passion for our mission and the desire to make an impact in the world through technology
  • Familiarity with the nonprofit and social sector within Washington. D.C.
  • Understanding of the unique needs of nonprofits
  • Experienced in relationship building with nonprofits 
  • Experience with creating relationships with those from a diversity of backgrounds and experiences
  • Comfortable working with data, experience working with Salesforce or other CRM software a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiar with and excited to work in a fast-paced, highly demanding startup environment
  • Self-motivated and ready to hit the ground running
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several tasks at once
  • Desire to be part of and help build a team

Salary range $50,000 to $60,000 DOE; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A range of benefits may include equity, healthcare benefits, paid time off may be provided as part of the compensation package.
