Our fully remote, distributed environment enables us to work with awesome people from around the world. Our team members work from 38 different countries. We generally hire based on timezones and try to keep teams together by making sure that every Zapien overlaps with their manager & teammates for at least a few hours a day.

As the Director of Product Management for our Revenue Zone, you will lead a team of talented product managers in building Zapier's next generation of payments and monetization experiences to achieve our mission of making automation work for everyone. You will be responsible for partnering closely with our Finance, Pricing & Packaging, and cross-functional Product teams to develop strategies that scale our billing platform and monetize new product offerings for maximum impact.

An ideal candidate has experience working with executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand their needs and prioritize and deliver payments and monetization solutions that enable them to capture value from new product capabilities. You have experience understanding complex technical issues, making sense of the abstract, and creating an easily-understood narrative to represent your strategy across the organization. You are skilled in sizing new opportunities and building a business case to evaluate new areas of investment for maximum impact.

About You

Leadership: You are an experienced product leader in the area of payments or monetization, with experience in subscription-based products, bringing new SKUs to market, or B2B SaaS as a bonus. You have at least eight years of experience building and managing high-performing product teams. You lead by example and empathy, understand the business and how to prioritize project work, emphasize mentorship, and create an environment of learning. You encourage diversity of ideas and know that the team is collectively stronger than any individual.

Strategy: You are able to communicate the vision for your team and then make it happen. You work with leadership to define how we'll scale our revenue and billing goals and build a 6-18 month roadmap for how you'll solve those problems. You know how to evaluate when to build vs buy and how to prioritize work for short and long-term impact. You can work with your team to break a vision down into goals and roadmaps and have experience leading multiple teams through execution towards the strategic vision. You understand how to balance being in the weeds to make clarity and when to work through your team to deliver results.

Outcomes: You are results-oriented and able to routinely deliver meaningful results for the business through collaboration with your team. You have a strong sense of accountability for outcomes and you share and celebrate positive results to build momentum. You learn and course correct when you don't get the results you want.

Systems Thinker: You understand how various parts of the customer experience, product and billing platform fit together into a comprehensive solution and have a strong intuition for how changes impact systems and teams. You keep your team thinking a step ahead to enable a growing number of product lines and strategies to come to life.

Data Driven: You can use data to discern insights that help drive roadmap planning and quarterly goal setting. You understand how to evaluate a business opportunity and create a model to evaluate investment areas for maximum business impact. You know how to measure the results of your work and understand its downstream effects. You can coach your team to do the same for their areas. You can use self-serve data exploration tools to support your own decision making.

Customer Oriented: You are skilled in leveraging user feedback to uncover unmet needs and balancing the user experience with monetization opportunities.

Skilled Communicator: You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and know the right tools for the job, whether it's managing the day-to-day cadence of projects or building cross-company momentum around a project. You understand how to communicate with executives for buy-in on your strategy and how to vary that communication when working with partners or team members.

Team Builder: You can build and motivate people and teams, and understand the benefits of building a diverse and inclusive team. You know that leading a team is about coaching and mentoring people, growing their capabilities, and creating an environment for the team to be successful. You connect your team

Zapier Compensation Guiding Principles

The pay ranges for this role are:

United States :  269,400-404,200 USD

Canada :  269,400-404,200 CAD

A Candidate's compensation package is finalized once the interview process is concluded and accounts for experience, competencies (job knowledge, skills and abilities) and internal equity. We use a competency-based approach to base pay, which means we set pay for all Zapier employees based on their competency and skills demonstrated in their role. In alignment with that philosophy, the upper half of a pay range is typically reserved for individuals who have consistently demonstrated a high level of job knowledge and skills for their current role and level while at Zapier.
