The Social Media Coordinator is a critical position in Share Our Strength's well-rounded Digital sub-team within Communications.
Intentionally use brand voice and maintain consistent brand presence across social media platforms, including verifying current and prospective promotions supporting No Kid Hungry.
Assist with No Kid Hungry social media content creation for youth engagement, state, local, and national efforts.
Schedule social media posts across our national social media platforms.
Support the social media team and brand team as a whole for campaign social media toolkit creation, overall ideation, innovation, and other rapid response moments.
1-2 years of experience in social media content creation and community management, or experience with written content creation.
Strong knowledge of social media platforms - Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills, including the ability to identify and work through challenges, underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.

The Social Media Coordinator is a critical position in Share Our Strength’s well-rounded Digital sub-team within Communications. To better manage our national channels and our state/field accounts and meet the organization’s growing content needs, this role would be a 50/50 split between national account community management support and content support focusing on state and local messaging. The outstanding candidate will bring experience implementing posts that generate high engagement while promoting a unified voice across platforms and audiences.

This position is preferably based in Washington, DC, but could be fully remote for the right candidate. Range for offers: $50,000-$52,000.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support No Kid Hungry social media community management through real time interactions and by addressing questions, monitoring and guiding conversations with followers, program and corporate partners, donors, potential employees, and fundraiser hosts to foster support.
  • Intentionally use brand voice and maintain consistent brand presence across social media platforms, including verifying current and prospective promotions supporting No Kid Hungry.
  • Assist with No Kid Hungry social media content creation for youth engagement, state, local, and national efforts.
  • Schedule social media posts across our national social media platforms.
  • Support the social media team and brand team as a whole for campaign social media toolkit creation, overall ideation, innovation, and other rapid response moments.
  • Partner with colleagues to support Share Our Strength's work to be a diverse and inclusive organization, and ensuring this value is embedded in the organization and throughout our work.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required, or equivalent professional and work experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in social media content creation and community management, or experience with written content creation (i.e. blog posts, email copy, articles, etc.).
  • Enthusiasm for learning new technology applications for social media management.
  • Experience with Sprout Social/Bambu, Keyhole, Trackmaven, and/or Facebook Business Suite is a plus, as is use of consistent brand voice across platforms and audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok)
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills, including the ability to identify and work through challenges, underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on multi-step, detail-oriented projects in a fluid environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with MS Office suite and Google Suite.
  • Additional desired (but not required) experience includes using analytics to improve performance and video editing.
  • Interest in anti-hunger and anti-poverty issues.
