Campaign Manager 🔥

The campaign manager will focus on engaging Free Press’ more than 1 million members, hundreds of allies and the broader public to demand an open, accessible and affordable internet, stop runaway media consolidation, end mass surveillance, uplift the voices of people of color in the media and protect press freedom. Our campaign work occurs both online and in the field. This position builds national and local ally relationships and coalitions, executes creative tactics, and develops engagement strategies to advance our campaigns — and win!

This position will focus primarily on corporate-accountability campaigns, putting pressure on media and tech companies to stop the spread of hate and disinformation, advance racial equity and serve the public interest. The campaign manager’s focus may shift or expand to different issue areas over time.

In collaboration with our campaign, digital, field, policy, cultural organizing and communications staff, the campaign director supports strategic, winning campaigns that achieve real differences in peoples’ lives. A successful candidate has strategy chops, rapid-response skills, expertise in coalition engagement and management, and online and offline organizing and mobilizing experience.

We have an office in Washington, D.C. (currently closed during the COVID pandemic, with D.C. staff working from home) and are open to remote work from other geographic locations in the United States. Preference will be given to those based in California, New York or D.C. to support networking and engagement.
