Position Title: Community Partnership Lead

Commitment: 20 hrs. per month, 3 month term

Organizational Description:
Inneract Project is a non-profit whose mission is to empower communities of color through design education and expand diversity in the design field. In order to reach this mission, IP provides a pathway of free design and career readiness initiatives to youth in order to introduce them to the field of design and channel their creativity into viable careers. What began in 2004 as a grassroots effort to teach design continues to be an organization unwavering in its mission.
Position Description:
The Contractor will work closely with the Program Manager in partnership outreach (community-based orgs/schools) and student engagement.
General Responsibilities:
- Work with IP team in creating a community education/student recruitment strategy in East Bay and San Francisco (includes who to contact, marketing outreach, events)
- Represent IP at community meetings and/or events
- Help create and maintain a sustainable system to track, analyze, and measure the efficacy of outreach efforts
- Work closely with the Volunteer teams in strategizing outreach efforts
- Network, initiate and manage communications with schools and CBOs
- Manage relationships and communication with youth and families (30 mins/1 hr a week)
- Participate in youth programs
Qualifications:
- 2+ yr community outreach & student recruitment/management
- 2+ yr experience working in education or youth (or both)
- Demonstrated experience in securing partnerships
- Familiarity with design or tech a PLUS
- A portfolio of network community-based organizations and/or schools in Bay Area (A Plus)
- Passion for education, youth, social justice
- Strong organizational skills. Demonstrated success as a contractor or part-time projects
- Self-starter, can work independently
- Good communication skills, both spoken and written, especially with families. Engaging on the phone. Tactful when writing emails
- Some weekend and evening responsibilities
- Good public speaking skills. Not intimidated to speak to groups of 20-50
- Strong email writing/editing abilities. Comfortable writing memos, support letters, marketing brochures, website copy, etc.
