Job Summary
At SPINE, we build brands. The online presence we create for clients is a vital part of the brand experience. That includes responsive WordPress websites and a broad range of other digital marketing initiatives. Web applications, digital marketing, secure document repositories—youll develop all that and more at SPINE. We constantly seek to create innovative solutions for our clients, enabling you to learn and work with new and emerging technologies. And as a member of our multidisciplinary creative team, your input will help shape every one of our interactive projects. That means youll have a big say in the applications you develop. Youll take ownership of projects and contribute from kickoff through the launch date—and beyond.
We are located in the Eastern timezone and prefer you to be located in either the Eastern or Central time zones.
Required Skills
OSX proficiency
WordPress front-end and back-end development
WordPress custom theming
Sass
CSS(3), including animations, transforms, and flexbox
Responsive web development (without a framework)
Basic Photoshop skills
Gulp.js
Vanilla JS & jQuery
Object-oriented PHP (2+ years experience)
Experience with OATH 2.0 for API integrations
MySQL (without PHPMyAdmin)
DNS management
Git (working with remotes, branches, and deployment)
Experience creating responsive HTML emails (without templates)
WordPress Skill Requirements
Ability to create themes from scratch using a base (e.g., Underscores)
Create custom post types and taxonomies without a plugin
Advanced Custom Fields
Ability to create meta boxes without Advanced Custom Fields
Strong knowledge of WP actions, hooks, and filters
Experience with WordPress Cron scheduling
Gutenberg block editor a plus
REST API knowledge a huge plus
Server Skill Requirements (Linux/Apache Environment)
Creating virtual hosts
Installing and updating packages
Creating users
Setting file and directory permissions
Managing ACLs
Create and manage cron tasks
Open SSL (for generating private keys and CSRs)
Installing SSL certificates
Additional Experience (Preferred)
WordPress Multisite
Sketch
WP CLI
Creating/updating Bash scripts
Using WordPress transients for caching
