The Position:

The Director of Learning & Organizational Development, in collaboration with internal groups, will create content and strategies for both professional and personal growth for the employees of Socialive as well as launch and manage employee well-being programs. This Director is an experienced passionate leader who cares deeply about developing others and is excited by the opportunity to create innovative learning experiences. This role creates change through developmental training and career management. This individual will organize, conduct, and evaluate employee training programs and will launch training programs on a variety of topics (e.g., onboarding, skills training, or employee wellness). This role will lead the development of our employees to ensure everyone can grow and perform at their best while ushering in new methods of working to create an optimal, sustainable remote work environment. This role will report into the VP of People Ops.

The Responsibilities:

  • Partner with departmental leaders to facilitate needs analysis to understand goals and needs of employee developmentĀ Ā 
  • Drive innovative strategies, provide subject matter expertise and implement operational best practices for Socialive's employee wellbeing program
  • Strategically lead multiple projects to ensure program cohesion and completion
  • Understand how individual, team, management and department leader performance impacts the organization
  • Create meaningful training practices to strengthen interpersonal connections in the remote workplace
  • Research and create practices that make a remote work environment as close to in-person work as possible
  • Engage with employees empathically, demonstrating positive regard and respectĀ 
  • Ensure business value and program benefits are delivered, sustained, and validated
  • Support Socialive employees to drive use and adoption of learning programs
  • Measure adoption and impact and adjust plans as needed to maintain positive impact
  • Facilitate learning across multiple delivery methods, including live online and eLearning
  • Dream, design and build eLearning courses deployed through our LMS
  • Manage onboarding and coaching programs for Socialive employees and leaders
  • Design and develop a leadership development program to support all levels of leaders
  • Create learning experiences to accelerate development for targeted talentĀ 
  • Lead the design of succession management and leadership planningĀ

The Candidate:

  • 7+ years of experience in employee training, leadership development, talent development, or organizational developmentĀ 
  • Experience at a fast-growth technology organization (strongly preferred)Ā 
  • Experience in employee engagement and extensive knowledge of managing learning initiatives
  • Highly motivated; Can work in a rapidly growing company and industry
  • Demonstrate the ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teamsĀ 
  • Experience using design methodologies (ADDIE, Merrill's First Principles of Instruction, Bloom's Taxonomy) and adult learning theoriesĀ 
  • Experience in program and/or project managementĀ 
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skillsĀ 
  • Can successfully scope projects and estimates time required accurately
  • Experience with LMS management and maintenance
  • Outstanding problem solver, innovator, and relationship builder
  • Strong facilitation skills and comfort in facilitating discussions covering various topics
  • Organizational skills and experience managing multiple projects and priorities
  • Experience creating images and graphics that support and enhance learning content
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders, SMEs, managers and employees
  • Technical aptitude to quickly learn new technologies
  • Proficient in Google Suite (Drive, Docs)
