Leadership for Educational Equity is a nonprofit leadership development organization inspiring and supporting a network of civic leaders to eradicate the injustice of educational inequity.


Through one-on-one coaching, fellowships, workshops, and resources, LEE works to develop and inspire its members individually and collectively, across all disciplines – as policy makers, advocates, elected leaders and community organizers. LEE membership is free and currently open to all Teach For America corps members and alumni. Position Summary: 

The director, creative marketing & engagement is a creative marketer, producer and strategist who brings innovative thinking to engaging and activating member audience segments. The director will develop fresh approaches to bringing unengaged LEE members into engagement with LEE and the network. The director will envision and create new products and experiences aligned to LEE and the comms team’s strategic priorities.

Position Location: Flexible

Travel Requirements: 10% for regular team meetings once regular travel resumes

Responsibilities:

Re-engagement and cultivation of lapsed membership base (40%)

  • Serve as segment lead for “reengaging” segments of the LEE member audience --
  • Developing member insights and targeting for lapsed members
  • Tracking data to determine progress to goal, appropriate next steps on the member leadership journey
  • Develop and deploy cross-channel marketing strategies (ie: creating ads, digital experiences) in partnership with communications team and program team partners to bring lapsed members to engagement with LEE and the LEE network
  • Partnering regularly across LEE program and regional teams to develop content ideas and exercising expert judgement to develop brand-aligned content plans
  • Develop, implement and evolve products that clarify and engage LEE members with the value of LEE membership

Creative digital content development and production (40%)

  • Design, pilot and implement digital products, experiences and offerings in alignment with the communications team’s strategy
  • Lead the design and implementation of LEE’s podcast strategies
  • Producing the Leaders’ Table Podcast, in partnership with manager, storytelling
  • Evolve additional podcast products and strategies
  • Produce select LEE national virtual events and forums

Cross-team strategy and alignment (10%)

  • Host streamlined planning spaces to align strategies deeply with LEE regional and national marketing priorities, connecting through data measuring impact on member movement on the LEE leadership ladder

Additional projects as assigned (10%)

  • Additional creative projects as identified

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant professional work experience
  • 3+ years experience in digital communications and marketing 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate work experience 
  • Exceptional creative production experience across video, virtual event and web-based products
  • Experience working across complex organizations requiring tact, diplomacy and trust
  • Excellent writing and production skills
  • Strong, demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity & inclusion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing digital content, including podcasts and live virtual forums
  • Experience developing creative marketing campaigns leveraging video, landing pages and other tools
  • Exceptional curiosity, creativity and willingness to experiment across multiple digital tools
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a geographically dispersed team
  • Deep passion for educational equity and belief in LEE’s mission and theory of change
