Organization Background 

Pajama Program is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes and supports a comforting bedtime routine and healthy sleep for children to help them thrive. Since 2001, Pajama Program has delivered over 7 million good nights for good days to children facing adversity by providing new pajamas, storybooks, and resources for caregivers. In 2020, Pajama Program enhanced its services by assuming the programs and staff of Sweet Dreamzzz, Inc., a nonprofit widely recognized for its evidence-based sleep health education. Pajama Program offers bedtime resources and sleep education nationwide, as well as through local programs in New York City, Atlanta, and metro-Detroit. To achieve its mission, Pajama Program relies on a national network of volunteers, generous donors, and partnerships with 4,000 community-based organizations across the United States, including Puerto Rico. 

About the Position 

The role of the Communications Coordinator is to support marketing and communications initiatives for the organization as they relate to overall messaging, fundraising/development, and programming, and to take a lead role in specific initiatives as assigned.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Support design/production of organizational, fundraising, and event materials  
  • Support digital communications: management and content updates of website, email, social, and other online properties and tools 
  • Edit and proofread company communications; draft communications as assigned  
  • Maintain media and collateral archives, track digital and engagement metrics 
  • Maintain constituent contact records 
  • Assist with execution and documentation of events and maintenance of special donor projects 
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for the Development & Communications teams 
  • Represent organization at external events and programs (virtual and in-person) 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)  
  • 2-3 years of experience in communications, development, and/or marketing 
  • Strong graphic design sensibility; experience with Canva and PowerPoint 
  • Solid writing, research, and organizational skills; attention to detail 
  • Experience with website management, email & social media marketing, database management 
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills 

Desirable: 

  • Experience with Wordpress, Salesforce/CRM database, Campaign Monitor   
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, video editing software 
  • Non-profit experience
