About this role:

Openly is looking for a VP of Marketing who will design the expansion of the current marketing organization with a focus on optimizing the balance between internal resources and external agency utilization. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this senior leadership role will be responsible for developing a marketing strategy that aligns and supports Openly's growth strategy. Ultimately, this will lead to increased overall brand awareness and consideration of Openly, both with potential customers as well as potential employees. This position will lead the design and execution of campaigns that communicate Openly's value proposition across multiple platforms. The role will determine the size and scope of the internal Openly team.

More details on the role:

  • Design, hire, coach, and lead the internal marketing team for Openly.
  • Set an operational strategy and vision for the Openly marketing organization.
  • Manage agency relationships and hold partners accountable for service level agreements. These relationships include digital advertising, public relations, brand content, and agent acquisition agencies.
  • Develop a marketing strategy that supports Openly's growth strategy and drives both brand awareness and agent acquisition.
  • Partner with VP of Business Development to ensure that marketing campaign tactics support the acquisition of new agents to sell Openly's products.
  • Partner with C-Suite & Head of People Operations to develop and execute marketing campaigns designed to attract and retain top talent for Openly.
  • Partner with the Data Strategy team to design crucial operational metrics and reporting that are automated, provide transparency, and drive quantitative decision making.
  • Establish an annual business development budget and financial plan.
  • Maintain brand guidelines across all marketing channels and content.

Core Requirements for this Role:

  • 8+ years in marketing roles in either technology or financial services industries with increasing responsibility. Insurance experience is not required.
  • 4+ years of marketing leadership experience with a proven track record of achieving strong operational results.
  • A proven track record of designing, staffing, and leading highly successful marketing teams.
  • A proven track record of influencing external agencies to achieve key objectives and results.
  • A passion for leadership, coaching, and developing talent
  • Track record of strategic planning and budgeting
  • Excellent people, project management skills, and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with people at all levels across the company
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Extremely comfortable operating with ambiguity and addressing complex business questions
  • Results-oriented and has strong decision-making skills
