organizing Manager 🔥


The Organizing Manager, reporting to the Director of Organizing, is responsible for developing, coaching, and supporting Organizers and the Volunteer Coordinator to develop and execute the organizing program to build and support the GALvanize USA community in target states. We are seeking someone who can hold GALvanize USA’s overall theory of change and engage, motivate, and inspire our audience with compelling calls to action. 

Responsibilities and Tasks 

  • Work closely with the Director of Organizing to create and implement an organizing strategy to both support and empower existing community members and to grow engagement
  • Develop and manage a team of remote Organizers and a Volunteer Coordinator to implement a organizing strategy and ensure the seamless execution of a volunteer strategy
  • Train and coach Organizers to create and develop meaningful relationships with community members and volunteers
  • Communicate and advocate for the needs of Organizers and the Volunteer Coordinator to the Director of Organizing
  • Support Organizers in day-to-day organizing operations, at times by leading events
  • Work with the Database Manager and Director of Organizing to create measurement structures and ensure data entry and tracking of organizing metrics
  • Collaborate with the Director of Programs on key content and curriculum needs
  • All employees of Hopewell Fund are required to complete timesheets
  • Performs other duties as needed

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Ability   

We are seeking candidates who are excellent managers, energetic, strategic, and passionate about unlocking the power of women to advance progress for all. You should have:

  • 3-4 years of experience on the ground organizing on progressive or political issues, including experience with digital and relational organizing
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience leading and managing staff, ideally in a Regional or Deputy Organizing/Field Director role
  • Solid understanding and analysis of approaches to power building, organizing, and empowerment
  • Commitment to women’s political empowerment
  • Strong manager who can build a virtual team
  • Creative, dynamic, innovative, strategic, innovative, and fun
  • Ability to travel 1-2 times/year (dependent on COVID-19)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training

Valued and Non-Essential Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Ability 

  • Familiarity or experience with deep canvassing
  • Experience with distributed organizing
  • Proficiency in and/or the ability to independently master G Suite, Microsoft tools, Slack, Asana, P2P texting tools, EveryAction, and NGP VAN
