Administrative Director
Major responsibilities
- Administrative Support of: Craft Programs; Writers Night Out; periodic events such as Authors Showcase and Annual Members Party & Benefit. Support and facilitate communication between committees. Attendance at monthly Steering Committee meetings.
- Membership Management: oversee membership platform; cultivate a sense of community, involvement, and ownership among membership; work with the Board and Steering Committee on initiatives to increase the number and diversity of members.
- Fundraising and Development: Take initiative to cultivate relationships with and seek funding from such sources as Giving Tuesday, banks, grants, and individual donors. Collaborate with the Development and Steering Committees and/or other volunteers.
Key capabilities
- Capacity to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with presenters, members, the working committees, and other volunteers.
- Excellent web design, graphic, and social media skills.
- Proven success as a fundraiser, grant writer and community builder.
- Strong ability to coordinate work of committees with the Publicity Team (publicity, newsletter, website & social media).
- Ability to work with Finance Committee to establish budgets.
- Connections to the various writing communities in Western MA.
- Patience, flexibility, sense of humor; proven ability to walk on water.
