Head Of Remote


We are looking for a solution-oriented, empathetic and effective communicator and operator who is obsessed with improving employee engagement and culture. As this is a new role, we’re looking for a self-starter who has ample ideas and is looking to trailblaze — to help us further define and build an excellent remote culture. This person will report to our Chief of Staff and work closely with our Internal Communications Manager and People Operations Team to make sure everyone feels like a happy, healthy, contributing member of the Hopin team — regardless of each employee’s location around the globe. This person will be super organized and enjoy improving processes and overall effectiveness of our entirely remote workforce.

Responsibilities 

Communication, culture and engagement

  • Develop and drive remote initiatives across the organization, partnering with cross functional leads to ensure buy-in and successful delivery
  • Partner with our Internal Communications and Head of People to build a cohesive internal communications strategy; this includes overseeing the implementation of content and managing channels across the company
  • Collaborate with our Marketing and Recruiting team to ensure our remote culture and best practices are showcased externally where appropriate
  • Serve as a writer and advocate for all internal documentation and content; train others in onboarding and throughout the employee lifecycle on documentation best practices
  • Manage change and internal policies to support day to day remote business needs
  • Be the employee experience advocate representing and protecting the viewpoint of our remote workforce through all strategies and decision-making

Tools & Processes

  • Evaluate, propose and implement tools that enable us to be better connected as a remote team, and help with asynchronous work. Identify an intranet solution and project managing a transition to ensure a robust documentation strategy
  • Identify remote working best practices & communication etiquette
  • Partner with IT and People ops to ensure each teammate has a healthy, ergonomic workspace, access to tools needed (virtual and physical)

Who you are:

  • Highly analytical and inquisitive in nature, with an ability to roll up sleeves and find data as needed to support proposals and decisions to improve our remote performance and collaboration
  • Very organized with strong problem solving and project management skills
  • Able to manage multiple priorities, set and achieve challenging goals; work under the pressure of deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Empathetic, with excellent verbal and written communication skills including a high degree of professionalism

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years experience in internal communications, marketing, HR, or operations in a fast paced environment
  • Experience with content management and documentation strategy
  • Experience setting up data-driven initiatives to drive decision making
  • Excellent strategic thinking and ability to lead through influence
  • Great listening, and strong ability to build trusting working relationships quickly
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Startup & entrepreneurial experience is a plus
  • Experience in a geographically dispersed organization and experience working with culturally diverse individuals
