About Leadership for Educational Equity

Leadership for Educational Equity is a nonprofit leadership development organization inspiring and supporting a network of civic leaders to eradicate the injustice of educational inequity.

Through one-on-one coaching, fellowships, workshops, and resources, LEE works to develop and inspire its members individually and collectively, across all disciplines – as policy makers, advocates, elected leaders and community organizers. LEE membership is free and currently open to all Teach For America corps members and alumni. LEE believes that when a diverse group of leaders, grounded in a commitment to equity, are in leadership roles, they will serve as a transformative force for and with students and communities.

LEE is a diverse team of passionate and talented individuals committed to making a difference. We are a high-growth, results-oriented organization that operates in an entrepreneurial environment deeply invested in continuous improvement. LEE is honored to have been selected as a LATINA Style 50 Award recipient and a “When Work Works” award recipient. We are also an Employer of National Service.

Position Summary:

The Director, Digital Training will inspire and support LEE members along their elected leadership journeys. The director will develop content to agitate members to take scaffolded actions to build their conviction and competence to run for elected office and serve as elected leaders. The director will design and oversee the execution of high-quality asynchronous virtual, in-person, and blended learning experiences that are grounded in LEE’s leadership development model. The director will also provide leadership, expertise, and coaching to member-facing staff on employing digital resources as a part of their synchronized coaching practice.

The director will co-create and execute a comprehensive strategy to ensure members have consistent, high-impact opportunities to support members along their entire journey with elected leadership, from their first thoughts to service and reelection. This role in particular will focus on early, initial engagement with the idea of serving in elected office. The early engagements will be a layered ladder of engagement, including low-risk micro-steps to scaled actions that build their leadership, competence, and conviction - all geared to inspire members to take the step to run for and win elected office. This work will include strategy and processes for long term candidate development; creating new training, materials, and resources to support that exploration and development; and collaborating with other teams to support members along the way.

The role requires both independent design and collaboration across the organization. In particular, the director will collaborate with LEE’s Elected Leadership team in the refinement of curriculum, LEE’s Regional Impact team to support their facilitation and implementation of regional and virtual programming, and LEE’s Blended Learning Community of Practice. The director will also need to collaborate with other LEE staff to rigorously track and analyze data, design program/project evaluation metrics, and make strategic shifts in response to staff and member needs.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate passion for and demonstrated success in adult leadership development and facilitation; strong expertise in virtual and blended learning; and familiarity with campaign organizing skills and knowledge. Through this work, the director ensures that LEE members are supported, inspired, and empowered to seek and pursue leadership opportunities at all levels that will help to achieve educational equity and excellence for all children.

The Director, Digital Training will work collaboratively with other blended learning directors, on this and other teams, and report directly to the Senior Director, Elected Leadership Discern.
