Palestinian Program Director 🔥


Position Summary: 

Seeds of Peace develops courageous leaders who work in solidarity across lines of difference to create more just and inclusive societies, and we are seeking a Palestinian Program Director to join our dynamic team. In this role you will oversee engagement of Palestinian youth, primarily high school age, educators, and our alumni in both our Palestinian and international programs. This is either a full-time or part-time role which is based in or around Ramallah. 

 

Position Responsibilities: 

Program Management 

  • Lead the strategy and design for all Palestinian youth, alumni, and educator programs, and oversee and participate in implementation, managing program budgets 
  • Contribute to development and execution of binational and multinational programs, in collaboration with Israeli and global program staff, respectively 
  • Lead all recruitment, selection, and preparation process for Palestinian youth programs 
  • Work with camp, alumni/fellowship, educators & community staff to align programmatic strategy and deepen impact 
  • Ensure appropriate and timely handling of logistics for all activities, in compliance with administrative and financial procedures 
  • Assist in bringing Seeds of Peace’s organizational values and mission to regional programs 

Community Relations 

  • Develop strategic partnerships and community relationships that add programmatic value and support, serving as the face of the organization in Palestine in coordination with relevant colleagues and/or teams 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Consult on and support systems to monitor and evaluate programs 
  • Contribute to organizational priority and budget setting  
  • Work closely with the Development team on fundraising relationships and proposal development and reporting as needed 
  • Assist global Communications team in identifying, guiding, and supporting opportunities for external communications, and by liaising with local press and media outlets and responding to inquiries 
  • Advise management team on, and/or participate in, key organizational decisions and decision-making processes 
  • Prepare supporting materials for programs and activities, developing programmatic and financial reports as requested 

 

Essential skills and experience: 

  • Seven (7) years of experience in youth development, social justice, peace-building and/or related fields 
  • Three (3) years of experience leading and managing multiple staff members 
  • Effective at building and leading teams and collaborative decision-making processes 
  • Willingness to travel to countries where Seeds of Peace programs are planned, if required 
  • Ability to work virtually across time zones 
  • Speaks fluent Arabic and English. Knowledge of Hebrew a plus 
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse staff and maintain environmental adaptability and flexibility 
  • Ability to maintain sensitivity and perspective in a high-stress political environment 
  • Public speaking skills and community engagement skills 
  • Ability to work with youth 
  • Basic computer skills required 
  • Pays attention to details and works independently and follows up on tasks 
  • Willing to work on weekends and/or after hours, if necessary 
  • Driver’s license, a plus 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
