As a Senior Compensation Analyst, you will be part of our Total Rewards team contributing to the development of plan design, tools and most importantly, you will be a critical part of ensuring a successful delivery of compensation programs in support of our overall rewards strategy. At Shopify, you won’t hear “because that’s just how we do it”, which means you will be constantly changing and evolving ideas looking for the best way to build for the future.

You’ll be working on things like:

  • Evaluate our existing global compensation programs to identify opportunities to reward our most valuable assets: our people.
  • Work with teams & leadership across Shopify to design and implement a compensation program that is innovative and cutting edge.
  • Support Shopify’s total compensation planning process, reviewing salary structures and equity grants to ensure alignment with Shopify’s goals.
  • Dive into market data to ensure that our compensation planning, compensation frameworks and equity strategy are aligned to our goals and company strategies.
  • Build and evolve compensation and equity tools.
  • Support our pay equity programs including global due diligence and compliance.
  • Evaluate and build learning initiatives to help educate our key stakeholders on Shopify’s compensation strategy
  • Ship it! Take the lead on delivering new programs; own it by tracking successes/failures; be nimble enough to pivot when necessary.

This could be a great fit if you:

  • Are experienced at building compensation plans for technology companies (preferred).
  • Have experience supporting executive and board compensation and annual proxy disclosure (nice to have)
  • Have experience supporting & designing global broad based equity plans.
  • Have designed and delivered total rewards programs globally.
  • Have a passion for challenging best practices, and identifying innovative strategies to support the overall compensation experience.
  • Are data driven and a master at crunching numbers to identify trends and make informed decisions.
  • Have a desire to reinvent.
  • Have strong opinions, loosely held.
