Contractor Role Overview: 

The Communications and Engagement Contractor will support the Marketing and Strategic Partnerships team in executing and monitoring communications and engagement strategies. This role reports to the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Engagement and involves supporting and coordinating the organizations engagement efforts including webinars, virtual events, convenings and other virtual or in-person events as well as communications projects including blog posts, editing reports, crafting persuasive emails, completing research projects, tracking and reporting analytics on marketing and communications campaigns.


Scope of Work/Deliverables:

  • Project management. Coordinate tasks through organization and disciplined follow up
  • Conduct research on strategic partners and foundations
  • Write and edit content, including blog posts and Commonwealth publications as needed
  • Assist with logistics and coordination for webinars, virtual events, and convenings
  • Provide general support on projects and for marketing team members as needed
  • Follow industry developments, across multiple industries, consumer research and public policy issues
  • Attend morning team stand up meetings as schedule allows
  • Participate in weekly Marketing and Strategic Partnerships team meeting

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications or journalism
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to track and support multiple complex projects with both flexibility and close attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to be persuasive verbally and in written communications for different audiences
  • Ability to think analytically
  • Ability to develop solutions to problems creatively as they arise
  • Flexible and willing to address project needs as they arise
  • Ability to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently to achieve goals and timelines
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and diverse groups of people
  • Experience with social media campaigns, Hubspot CRM, visual graphic design, or proofreading/editing a plus
  •  Familiarity with financial inclusion and financially vulnerable populations a plus

This is a 30 day contract (1099), estimated 20 hours per week position located remotely with a rate of $30 per hour. Preferred start date September 1. Potential for expansion into a 6-month renewable contract starting October 1, 2020.
