Position Summary
The Vice President of Marketing is a key member of the global leadership team for Pearson Online Learning Services (POLS), which engages directly with learners and university partners to provide high-quality online learning outcomes – including undergraduate and graduate degree programs, short courses, online boot camps, micro-credentials, etc.
The VP of Marketing leads a team of >150 across all components of the marketing lifecycle, including digital marketing strategy, brand management, client relationship management, media services, lead generation, and creative through a dynamic blend of internal team resources and external agency / strategic vendor partners (e.g., paid search, social, etc.). The VP also engages extensively cross-functionally within the division and across Pearson to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring a unique blend of leadership acumen, digital marketing expertise, and proven track record of turning transformational thinking into reality through strong execution and achievement on plan. The VP will also tap into her/his innate curiosity about the fast-evolving nature of online learning in order to identify and assess market opportunities; recommend innovative solutions and approaches; and, ultimately, implement new ideas to keep us on the forefront in serving learners.
Additionally, the VP will be adept at interacting strategically with senior leaders at Pearson and partners while also being ready to roll up the sleeves to drive initiatives in a matrixed-management environment where cross-functional collaboration is vital to our success. Possessing a strong sense of humility, humor, and growth mindset, the VP will operate at pace; bring others along on the journey; and leverage an evidence-based “80/20” approach to decision making and action.

Qualifications
General Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in Marketing or related field, with a Master’s preferred
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in digital marketing, brand strategy, account management and/or related field with proven experience in the following areas:
o Cutting-edge / best-practices in digital marketing
o Leading and cultivating high-performing teams in a remote working environment
o Initiating and leading large-scale, complex, cross-functional initiatives
o Strategic problem-solving, negotiation, and internal / external influencing
o Achieving results collaboratively in a matrixed management environment
o Market awareness, ideation, and solutioning
Strong interpersonal, communications, and analytical skills with maturity and professionalism
Customer-service orientation with specific experience in handling high-profile, high-demand, senior-level customers / relationships / stakeholders
Strong track record of getting things done on time with high quality work products achieved with urgency and an “agile” mindset
Experience working globally with a keen awareness and orientation toward diversity, inclusion, and multiculturalism
