This is a fantastic opportunity for an entrepreneurial-minded people expert to build from scratch a high-performance talent recruitment + HR machine for a 100% remote company. Over the last 9 years, we've grown to a $50MM+ company with 100+ teammates with no HR at all, but now need a strong talent + HR leader to help us march toward our goal of becoming a billion dollar brand by 2023.

Hello, my name is Marc Stockman, CEO of Metabolic Living, and I need your help. Our mission at Metabolic Living is to make our metabolism-first lifestyle the worldwide standard for healthy living. Even without the current pandemic, people struggle with their health, confused by so many competing options that don't get results. So, we've developed a simple process anybody can follow to optimize their metabolism to deliver the energy their body needs to thrive.

In spite of the crisis the world is in, we're growing, because of the products and services we sell. Our goal is to build a $1 billion dollar consumer brand by 2023 and our people will play an enormously important role in achieving that. We'll add 50 - 100 people in the next 12 months and are launching our new brand and flagship e-commerce website this summer (more on that below).

Obviously, we have VERY ambitious goals, which requires a strong team of high-performing, yet humble talent. However, we've reached the point where we can no longer manage this in an ad hoc way and need a truly strong leader who is excited at the challenge of building a state-of-the-art talent recruitment + HR machine from scratch. You'll essentially be building your own high-performance recruiting and talent management agency, in-house. You will 100% own this from A-Z. Exciting!

And at a personal level, this is an extraordinarily meaningful hire, because I'll be working directly with you to ensure our high-performing, yet humble culture is implemented in a way that can scale. So many companies either never define their culture clearly or see it fall apart as they scale. That will not happen to us. Our people are our lifeblood. Nothing is more important.

What Are the Major Objectives?

  • Scale High Performance Culture - Using a people-first mentality, you'll drive towards refining and scaling our high-performance, yet humble culture; this is your north star for everything
  • Talent Recruiting Machine - Combine our tested nationwide internal recruiting efforts with your wisdom and network of agencies to build a scalable recruiting machine
  • Talent Cultivation Machine - Establish the optimal processes, programs, polices to ensure we cultivate our existing talent with the proper training to boost their effectiveness
  • Innovative Onboarding Process - Build a unique onboarding process that reflects our remote environment, allowing us to create an emotional connection with everyone new on day 1
  • Select HRIS - Evaluate, select and implement a robust HRIS that allows us to scale efficiently and effectively as we onboard another 100 team members in the next 12-18 months.
  • Performance Reviews - Integrate our 10 high performance habits into a robust and common-sense performance review process that incorporates both qualitative and quantitative elements

What Are the On-going Responsibilities?

  • Strategy - Partner with the leadership team to develop our HR + talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Recruiting - Help write job descriptions (in this style), sift through resumes to find the signal in the noise, pre-screen candidates and present hiring managers with a top vetted set
  • Coaching - Engage with team members where needed to handle sensitive issues, help them work through challenges and inspire them to become the best version of themselves
  • Administration - Perform the necessary on-going administrative tasks whether onboarding, performance reviews, monitoring compliance, benefits, etc.
  • Project Management - You'll be the single point of accountability for all major strategic projects, conducting daily huddles, building requirements and managing project plans

What Key Skills and Experience are Needed?

  • 10+ Years in HR - You've done every single aspect of the HR role and are comfortable doing it all, whether recruitment, administration, benefits, compensation, training, etc.
  • Built High-Performance Team - You've led the talent/HR/people function for at least 5+ years, know how to build your own high performance team and one for the organization at large
  • Driven to Excellence - You naturally have a powerful inner drive towards excellence, which makes you very uncomfortable being around others who don't have that same drive
  • Data-Driven - Extremely comfortable flexing the analytical side of your brain with a passionate for pouring through reams of response data to detect patterns of success to replicate
  • Systems-Oriented - You've got strong organizational skills and love to create order out of chaos with highly organized systems that deliver sustained success, regardless of who is in charge
  • Excellent Communicator - Able to clearly and concisely articulate positions both in written format and orally in 1-on-1 or group situations that build cohesion and gain alignment
