Job Summary:
Works with internal clients to ensure proper operation of PC and network equipment and systems. Analyzes status information to identify the source of equipment failures. Analyzes workload to rearrange processing schedules and equipment assignments. Assists authorized users in terminal access procedures and other processes. Calls in vendor technicians for assistance with mainframe and Personal Computer problems when required. Looks for indications that problem conditions are developing in the systems, investigates system malfunctions to determine the causes. Isolates recurring problems in one or several computer systems.
Essential Responsibilities/Activities:
- Activate jobs by operating systems
- Activate large-scale computer system by powering on control console
- Activate the computer system
- Analyze status information to identify the source of equipment failures
- Call in vendor technicians for assistance with mainframe and Personal Computer problems
- Correct those conditions that will respond to standardized control procedures or precedent options
- Enter commands
- Follow prescribed operating schedules
- Identify any unusual operating conditions at the time of failure
- Identify equipment problems which can be corrected by standardized procedures
- Identify hardware malfunctions
- Identify malfunctioning equipment
- Identify problem conditions that affect system operating efficiency in accepting and processing jobs
- Insure the total availability the total availability of the large-scale computer system(s) and peripherals
- Investigate system malfunctions to determine the cause; i.e., hardware, software, or environment
- Isolate recurring problems in one or several computer systems
- Look for indications that problem conditions are developing in the systems
- Maintain continuity of equipment operations and processing workflow
- Notify designated technical personnel about problems that fail to respond to controls
- Perform initiation and booting operations
- Report equipment failure to technical personnel
- Respond to terminal/console messages
- Restrict access to data and processed information to authorized individuals or organizations
The qualified candidate must exhibit good decision making, analytical problem solving, statistical analysis and excellent organizational abilities. Additionally the candidate must able to communicate effectively, in written and spoken form, and possess excellent interpersonal relationship skills. Must work well in a team environment. Job requires that work be done at the AAON facility
Essential Physical Functions:
- Lift up to 50lbs.
- Able to be comfortably seated at a desk for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to climb.
- Job requires frequent trips to manufacturing environment where individual will be subject to heat, cold and dusty/dirty conditions at times.
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access)
- General computer knowledge.
- Experience with PC support a plus.
Salary: $19.00 /hour
