Training Specialist: National Health Workforce Training & Technical Assistance Institute
The Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU) is
adding to its team! ACU is a fast-growing organization filled with
mission-driven people committed to improving the health of America’s
underserved populations and supporting the clinicians serving these
populations. We’re looking for someone equally committed to that cause who can
help support ACU’s National Health Center Workforce Training and Technical
Assistance Institute.
The Training Specialist will aid in the development and
implementation of stakeholder engagement activities, training events and
educational materials relating to the creation and facilitation of a National
Health Workforce Training & Technical Assistance Institute. The Institute
will serve as a central hub for all stakeholder engagement activities to ensure
integration and coordination throughout the Bureau of Health Workforce (BHW)
and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The Institute will
work to improve communication and outreach, stakeholder engagement, amplify
impact and enhance workforce recruitment and retention at community-based
training sites, especially in areas of workforce experiencing shortages.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in time
management, and possesses excellent interpersonal communication skills. The
ideal candidate has experience in stakeholder engagement, meeting facilitation
and workforce matters such as health professions education and training (HP-ET)
and recruitment and retention in rural and underserved areas. The ACU offices
are located in Washington, DC.
Duties
and Responsibilities
•
Assist in the development of a stakeholder
engagement and communication plan.
•
Assist with the planning and execution of multiple
stakeholder engagement activities throughout the grant period.
•
Assist with the development of a technical
assistance plan on workforce recruitment activities for the HP-ET initiative at
community based training sites in rural and underserved areas.
•
Assist with the creation of an advisory committee of
subject matter experts in workforce development and strategic planning for
community based training sites in rural and underserved areas.
•
Assist with the planning and execution of annual
regional workforce workshops.
•
Assist with the planning and execution of annual
in-person stakeholder engagement meetings including agenda setting and
coordination of applicable subject matter experts.
•
Assist with the creation of a website to collect all
related project resources.
•

Qualifications
for Position
•
BS degree preferred – Experience may be substituted
for a degree.
•
At least 2 years of experience providing support for
virtual and online trainings
•
Familiarity with supporting the health professions
pathway and a variety of health professions education and training (HP-ET)
programs and recruitment and retention in underserved areas
•
Familiarity with federal, national and state
stakeholders involved with HP-ET programs
•
At least 2 years of experience designing educational
materials for adult learners
•
At least 2 years of years of experience in providing
trainings and facilitating stakeholder engagement meetings
•
At least 2 years of experience in working with
federally qualified health centers preferred
•
Commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and

Proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs,
including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
•
Proficiency with G-Suite programs
•
Strong team collaboration and interpersonal skills
