National Criminal Justice Association (NCJA)

The NCJA Center for Justice Planning (CJP) provides training, technical assistance, research and reporting to state administering agencies (SAAs) as well as other state and local stakeholders, including criminal justice coordinating councils (CJCC) and community based advisory boards. The NCJA Center for Justice Planning provides direct technical assistance, both remotely and onsite, offers training, coordinates with other national partners, gathers data and research evidence-informed practices for inclusion in outreach and training.

 The Program Coordinator position complements the skillset of the Center for Justice Planning team, providing administrative support related to project logistics, tracking and coordination. The Project Coordinator will play an integral role in supporting the CJP team as they engage in technical assistance and strategic planning across the country. Travel throughout the United States and territories may be expected on a routine basis. The Program Coordinator will work remotely from a home office location and reports directly to the Director of NCJA’s Center for Justice Planning, working collaboratively as a member of a high functioning professional team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing event support which may include, but is not limited to:
  • Preparing and submitting conference approval and reporting forms for SAA-TTA related events
  • Developing meeting agenda and notices
  • Maintain registration links and NCJA Learning Management System
  • Managing event logistics and reminders
  • Preparing meeting materials
  • Providing support for virtual meetings/trainings
  • Conducting online research to compile descriptive information pertaining to evidence-based or informed criminal justice programs and policies delivered by justice agencies.
  • Participate in and serve as primary record keeper and minute taker for key project meetings.
  • Maintain data reporting tool established to track and monitor training and technical assistance (TTA) requests and deliverables.
  • Report grant award activities into Department of Justice reporting systems.
  • Conducting online research to compile descriptive information pertaining to evidence-based or informed criminal justice programs and policies delivered by justice agencies.
  • Tracking partner and subaward invoicing
  • Editing presentations and reports

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Experience working with high-level professionals.
  • Ability to work virtually, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to participate in a high functioning professional team requiring flexibility and collaboration.
  • Associate’s degree (or commensurate experience) and 3 years’ experience working in professional setting, or bachelor’s degree (or commensurate experience) in business administration or management and 2 years’ experience working in professional office environment, or combination of equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Power BI, etc.) and other research related software programs.
  • Familiarity, experience or interest in the criminal justice system preferred.

Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000, commensurate with experience.

This position is supported through a U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance Cooperative Agreement. Continuation of this position is contingent upon performance and the ability to obtain future funding for this project.
