Technical Writer - Remote Role
Location: Washington DC
Role And Responsibilities
- Assist the CIO, and staff to develop a clear IT plan for standardization and implementation of new projects and tasks.
- Works with appropriate critical partners and stakeholder teams to include timely, project reviews and reports on them.
- Collaborates with all functional business units to achieve strategic, tactical and project goals.
- Ensures that all documentation accurately reflects the status of changes and outstanding issues so that business requirements reflect application features and functions.
- Aid team members with quality assurance and end-user documentation.
- Develops, maintains, and continually improves written policies and procedures across the Information Technology Branch.
- Develops, edits, and reviews a variety of policies procedures, guidelines, and puts in place the logical arrangement of content; ensuring content is accurate, clear, and consistent with other published documents.
- Evaluates and provides assessments of technical documents.
- Reviews documentation for grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, sentence structure, redundancy, composition, style, etc.
- Compiles data from diverse sources, extracts critical information, and conducts analyses to develop written reports and presentations.
Skills Required
- Must have 5+ years of experience in writing and editing documents.
- On-premise General Support System, two cloud environments on Azure and AWS, AND 6 Software as a Service (SaaS) systems.
- Experience should include variety of technical documents, including, proposals, articles, brochures, reports, SOPs, strategic plans, disaster recovery plans, reports and manuals / user guides.
- Supporting the CIO's office in documentation, project management, meeting minutes and other administrative tasks.
