Development Consultant
Position: Development Consultant (Part-time)
Schedule: 12 hours per month
Location: The Americas, preferably Guatemala or the United States
Modality: Remote
Start date: Immediately
Length of position: 6 months with the possibility to extend
Asociación Sueños is a nonprofit organization that provides a safe space of empowerment, learning and collaboration for the children of street vendors in Antigua Guatemala through community-centered education.
Position: The Development Consultant supports fundraising at Sueños by working with the Executive Director, Board of Directors and program staff to create consistent communication with donors. This includes coordinating donor communications, managing the fundraising calendar, finding and helping to apply for grants and other funding opportunities, occasionally supporting the planning of fundraising events, and supporting the local team with documenting program impact.
Responsibilities:
- Support the creation of a fundraising plan and calendar
- Manage the fundraising and communications calendar
- Manage donor database, create and send fundraising reports
- Support research for new grants and reporting on existing grants
- Manage monthly donor program
- Manage donor platform and social media
- Support with creation of external communication materials
Qualifications
- Nonprofit fundraising experience, relevant alternative experience considered.
- Demonstrated interest in the community development or nonprofit sector.
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to contribute to all forms of development communications (newsletter articles, personal correspondence, fundraising proposals, and reports).
- Basic design skills, with knowledge of Canva or similar design programs.
- Good people skills, with the ability to build relationships with Sueños’ supporter base and comfort relating to people from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
