About Better Future Forward
Better Future Forward [1] is a 501(c)(3) social enterprise founded in 2016 and dedicated to making postsecondary education accessible and affordable for our nation’s historically marginalized student populations. We see a world where all hard-working students have the financial help, support, and protection they need to succeed, and believe that no student should have to mortgage their future to get that support.
To bring about this better world, we build community-based funds and disburse income-share agreements (ISAs) that make it possible for underserved students to invest in their education in a way that is fair, equitable, and ultimately sustainable. Our ISAs operate in a way that positions our community funds to support all students who can benefit from them. We currently partner with five renowned college access organizations, including College Possible, Bottom Line, OneGoal, One Million Degrees, and the Noble Network, to recruit and support students from Chicago, IL, the Twin Cities, MN, and Milwaukee, WI. We have even bigger plans to expand to other geographies and nationally, as well as to shape the national conversation about postsecondary debt and access.
