Program Coordinator, Network Effect 🔥

THE ORGANIZATION

The Pahara Institute’s mission is to strengthen and sustain values-driven leaders who are transforming public education so that every child is prepared to lead a free and fulfilling life. We support exceptional, innovative leaders in the non-profit schools sector who are committed to equity and access to excellent public schools for our children. We focus on a diverse set of leaders, with a specific priority on representation and inclusion of leaders who share life experiences with our most marginalized and underserved student populations. Our work is guided by the following core values:

  • Wholeness: We bring our whole selves. We are authentic and vulnerable.
  • Transformative Love: We create belonging. We build inclusive and deeply connected communities across many lines of difference.
  • Excellence: We deliver exceptional quality without compromising our integrity or humanity.
  • Continuous Learning: We learn, grow, adapt, and change. We get better.
  • Liberation: We find new ways to ensure that everyone can live a free and meaningful life.

THE OPPORTUNITY

  • The Program Coordinator, Network Effect (“Coordinator”) will provide high-quality event-planning and operations support for Fellowship programming, including pre-planning and preparation, serving as the onsite lead for logistics and operations support during events, and post-event debriefing.
  • The Coordinator will efficiently complete administrative tasks to help the Network Effect Team meet its goals and produce seamless, transformational development opportunities for Pahara Fellows in a values-aligned way.

Sample goals for this role:

The Coordinator will be key to developing work plans and executing the processes and tasks that support the Network Effect Team and produce high-quality programming for our Fellows. Here are two examples of how we’ll measure your success:

  • By early 2024, the Coordinator will provide high-quality planning and organizational support, executing and supporting the refinement of systems and processes so the team is collaborative, values-aligned, and high-functioning, with a 25% increase in team capacity.
  • By summer 2024, the Coordinator will autonomously lead and execute all operational aspects of an event, from the creation of a work plan to wrapping-up the event, with at least 90% of program participants rating logistics as “good” or “excellent”.

What your week might look like:

  • Mostly: Leading onsite production of events and serving as liaison for all event stakeholders during programming; producing onsite materials for events; managing timely communication with Fellows and moderators; building and managing work plans; and keeping the Program Manager and other collaborators on track to meet deadlines.
  • Some: Managing vendor relationships, including effective communication, processing invoices, submitting travel/shuttle schedules, and creating and finalizing banquet orders and rooming lists; scheduling external and internal meetings; creating event related agendas, curricula, and materials; and speaking comfortably in public in order to facilitate and give directions to large groups of people.
  • A little: Cross-team collaboration; managing email communication from Fellows that is not specific to events; and researching vendors and event swag through a lens of our core values and cultural competence.
  • With a sprinkling of: Monthly financial reconciliation.

WHO SHOULD APPLY

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate skills and abilities that reflect the following statements:

  • You LOVE hospitality and collaborating to achieve goals efficiently and effectively. You enjoy coordinating and executing all aspects of pre-event preparation, including communications, logistics, tech support, and preparation of materials. You have a proven track record of interacting at multiple levels, within the organization and externally, on projects with multiple participants. You are energized by implementing and monitoring processes that facilitate ease for team members and program participants, ensuring process integrity at every stage. You are eager to contribute to Pahara’s overall team environment by leading through our core values.

You understand the complexity that school-based educators are leading through every day. You genuinely believe that, as a result of Pahara’s transformative programming, diverse, high-integrity leaders can redefine public education. And you do this work so every child in America has access to excellent educational opportunities in public schools.
  • You are constantly looking for new ways to ensure that everyone can lead a free and meaningful life.  You prioritize equity at every level of the work you do.
