Grants Manager

Summary
The Grants Manager is responsible for coordinating the development, administrative management, reporting, and close-out of grants. The Grants Manager will ensure that grants are executed on schedule and in a manner consistent with best practices. The manager reports to the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives. This is a full-time position. This position is primarily remote, with periodic in person meetings and events in the Central Maryland area and at TurnAround's office locations (Towson, Baltimore City, and Columbia, MD).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the grants process throughout all stages including proposals, execution, implementation, and close-out.
- Proposal phase: Working closely with Senior Director and other staff, review Requests for Proposals for required elements, develop workplans, review for completeness, and ensure proposals are submitted on time.
- Award phase: Review new grant contracts and work with relevant staff to fulfill all requirements to execute, such as obtaining signatures and additional documentation required by the funder.
- Implementation: Notify staff of grant requirements and assist the Senior Director with developing monitoring tools to track progress towards grant goals and compliance. Maintain grants reporting calendar and ensure reports are submitted on time.
- Coordinate closely with the agency's finance team to ensure financial reporting requirements are met and grant budgets are up to date. Ensure program directors and managers are up to date on status of grant spending. Act as primary liaison between program staff and finance team, addressing questions about allowable costs and other compliance requirements.
- Close-out: Ensure the agency fulfills all requirements to close-out grant awards per funder conditions.
- Provides ideas and recommendations to the Senior Director for improvements to grants related systems and processes.
- Assists with implementing changes and training program staff on processes.
- Communicates with funders as needed.
- Primary point of contact for contractual grant writers and other contractual support for grants management.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Three or more years of experience with grants management/compliance, preferably federal grants.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Policy, Public or Human Service Administration, Business, or related field; or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that would provide the level of knowledge and ability necessary to be successful in this position.
3. Highly self-motivated, able to work independently.
4. Highly organized.
5. Detail-oriented.
6. Excellent communication skills.
7. Strong computer skills including comfort with navigating various programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; and funder grant portals.
8. Desire for professional growth and enthusiasm for the organization's mission and values.
