May 12, 2023 - Going is hiring a remote Associate Product Operations Specialist (Flight Expert). đź“ŤLocation: USA.

As an Associate Product Operations Specialist (Flight Expert) on our Product Operations Team, you will collaborate closely with our team to source, package, and publish flight deals that help our members pay less to travel the world. You will use your industry knowledge and experience to ensure that all aspects of the Going product are leveled up, and you will work alongside a team that is dedicated to delivering a unique and positive experience to our members. As a primary author of Going deal emails, you will be on the front lines helping us achieve our mission, to help people travel and experience the world.

This is a full-time, hourly position. You must be able to work Saturday through Wednesday.

In the short term, you will

  • Learn about how our product is produced and gain an understanding of the technical tools involved

  • Learn about our members, with the goal of deeply understanding them, participating in regular member interviews

  • Develop your existing understanding of the flight industry and pricing patterns, along with recognizing shifting route and pricing trends

  • Regularly uncover the best flight deals departing from 182 airports across the United States and share these with members

  • Craft detailed, informative deal emails while staying true to the Going brand/voice

  • Independently produce work product that expeditiously delivers value to every member

  • Be mindful of world events and their impact on our members' travel experience

  • Think critically about and participate in discussions designed to improve current Product Operation tools, processes, and procedures

 

In the long term, you will

  • Become an expert on our members and translate their wants and needs into product and process improvements

  • Identify and implement scalable solutions to improve our deal sourcing and deal prioritization

  • Be an integral component of our product squads, bringing a deep understanding of flights, pricing, and our deals product to product planning processes

  • Independently use appropriate qualitative and quantitative data points to shape deal thresholds and deal targets

  • Work on projects designed to improve the processes and tools used by the team on a daily basis

 

What you know

Required

:

  • Passion for travel and customer service

    : We are seeking someone who is not just knowledgeable about travel, but truly loves it and is excited to help our customers find the best deals and options for their trips. You should be able to demonstrate your passion through your own travel experiences, as well as your ability to connect with customers and understand their needs.

  • Expertise or familiarity in the travel industry

    : As a travel specialist, you should have an understanding of the travel industry and be able to navigate the complexities of flights, airports, airlines, and fares. You should be familiar with industry trends and best practices, and be able to apply this knowledge to help customers make informed decisions.

  • Analytical skills

    : You should have a strong sense of pricing trends and be able to identify opportunities for savings or upgrades. You should also be able to use data and analytics tools to track and analyze customer behavior and preferences, and make recommendations based on this information.

  • Adaptability and flexibility

    : You should be able to handle unexpected changes and be able to quickly come up with alternative solutions or workarounds.

  • Self-motivation and accountability

    : We are looking for someone who is able to work independently, take ownership of their tasks, and produce high-quality work with minimal supervision. You should be able to follow established processes and guidelines, but also be able to make independent decisions and take initiative to improve our services.

  • Communication skills

    : You should be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing. You should be able to explain complex concepts and options in clear, concise language, and be able to build rapport and trust with customers through effective communication. You should be able to craft informative, interesting emails in the Going voice.

  • You’re legally authorized to work in the United States and you are be able to work hours that align with Mountain, Pacific, or Hawaii time zone.

 

Preferred

:

  • Previous experience producing professional written content under a time deadline.

  • Prior history of demonstrated success in a remote startup, hyper-growth technology environment.
