Email Marketing Manager 🔥
The Email Marketing Manager is a key member of the Member Experience & Marketing Operations team and is responsible for independently managing and executing email marketing and outreach activities focused on retaining and engaging members and constituents of AAAS. The Email Marketing Manager’s primary responsibilities are to work independently to manage email marketing programs for a wide range of internal clients while ensuring all functional pieces are in place to execute seamless campaigns. The Email Marketing Manager will work closely with the Marketing Operations Manager to manage the email calendar. The Email Marketing Manager will be savvy in developing strong cross functional relationships and must have project management skills to ensure all campaigns launch on time. Responsible for managing the renewal process and supporting marketing and engagement campaigns to retain maximum membership. Performs a range of tasks including email deployment, pulling data and reviewing email files for accuracy and assisting in the development and testing of marketing campaigns. The Email Marketing Manager will also be responsible for creating and maintaining automated email series.

What You’ll Do
· Manage the setup, coordination and execution of email campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
· Ensures the ongoing revenue stream by managing the monthly renewal process pulling files, data quality checking, sending to the appropriate stakeholders, and testing proofs before deployment.
· Manages the deployment of renewal email sends and supports other sends for Membership and Programs as needed.
· Manages email lists for renewals, auto-renewals, programs, membership engagement, events, and other initiatives as needed. This includes file pulling, data quality checking, and testing email templates for accuracy.
· Assists in the process of renewal campaign development and set up. Works across the team internally and with external vendors for marketing creative approvals ensuring deadlines are met. Helps test campaigns before launch and after updates.
· Oversees the Welcome Series monitoring the automation, QC’ing the process, updating the series as needed, and reporting on series engagement metrics.
· Communicates monthly promotional plan, renewal offers, updates code/tracking matrix, and maintains creative sample files for on-going renewal campaigns for Member Central Support.
· Conceive, develop, deploy, test, and optimize triggered user journeys in email automation platforms.
· Track, maintain, interpret and report regularly on email program metrics to appropriate parties.
· Set up A/B tests and evaluate metrics to inform the development of new tests and optimizations.
· Execute the coding and deployment of emails for several departments. Attend planning meetings for content requirements and communicate throughout the process to obtain edits and final approvals.
· Deliver reports to program managers and directors on email campaigns, while providing value-added insights and recommendations to increase KPIs.
· Manage list segmentation, filtering and upkeep to provide the most recent lists for both imports, exports and email sends/subscribers. Sort lists/list folders by departments, campaigns/projects, months, years etc.
· Identify new functionalities and capabilities within existing tools and systems for improved performance
Minimum Qualifications
· BA/BS degree an accredited college or university in a related field
· Minimum of 5 years in a digital marketing role.
· Minimum 5 years using email marketing systems, lead nurturing systems, CRM and web analytics systems.
· Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud
· Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
· Demonstrated ability to understand processes, identify optimization opportunities and communicate them effectively.
· A strong “go getter” willing to be the main contact for Membership Office team working with internal and external partners
· Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
· Demonstrated advanced proficiency in MS Excel and spreadsheet experience
· Experience with HTML preferred
· Experience with automation studio preferred
· Flexibility, resourcefulness, and ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously, set priorities for multiple projects, and meet multiple deadlines

The anticipated initial rate of compensation for this position is between $86,000 and $94,000 per year. AAAS currently provides the following benefits for this position: paid vacation leave, paid sick leave, paid holidays, health insurance, flexible spending account, dental insurance, life insurance, vision insurance, retirement benefits, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance, each subject to the terms of the applicable program. Additional benefits may apply.
