Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Overall responsible for managing the organization’s email marketing automations, supporter segmentation, and email deliverability. . Help develop and set up email marketing automations to achieve audience-specific goals. Oversee segmentation to provide supporters with personalized experiences. Manage, monitor, and adjust as needed, our active email list criteria to ensure high email list deliverability. Review email and paid advertising copy for branding, messaging, and content cohesion and run through approval processes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help conceptualize and implement email marketing automations to support audience journeys that move Oxfam supporters up the ladder of engagement.
  • Develop marketing automation maintenance plans and create process to ensure active review and renewal of content and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Maintain inventory of live marketing automations and flag issues or necessary updates to the Digital Marketing and Fundraising Manager, ensuring that donor journeys remain optimized.
  • Manage request and prioritization process for new marketing automations across Oxfam.
  • Set up email automation messages including creating conditional content for specific audience segments to ensure Oxfam supporters receive personized experiences.
  • Ensure all forms and automated emails are optimized for user experience, analytic tracking, and properly reviewed for quality assurance. 
  • Ensure all email automations are sent to proper audience segments.
  • Set up and track A/B email automation tests with a goal of optimizing for various audience goals.
  • Manage audience segmentations across channels to ensure Oxfam supporters receive personized experiences and are funneled into proper automations.
  • Coordinate with constituent product team to ensure data needed for segmentations and automations is flowing between databases and digital engagement tools. 
  • With a firm understanding of Oxfam’s branding, content guidelines, and approval procedures, review draft email and ads. Coordinate as needed to ensure messages are factually accurate and reflect current campaign messaging and organizational branding.
  • Run quality assurance on outgoing Oxfam fundraising and cultivation email messages and forms.
  • Manage and monitor organizational email deliverability, make recommendations for adjustments to inactive file segmentation and re-engagement automations, and implement updates to improve email file health.
  • Occasionally write email messages, as needed, for current Oxfam supporters.
  • Coordinate with Resource Development team to ensure email appends run smoothly, are optimized for email subscription retention, are tracked properly in our various tools, and new subscribers are funneled into the correct marketing automations.
  • Coordinate with public engagement; alliances, advocacy, and policy team; and other digital team members to ensure effective implementation of digital strategies across channels.
  • As needed, track data related to digital email health, segmentation, and automations to assist in performance analysis and reporting.
  • Run regular analysis of marketing automation and segmentation performance and make recommendations for optimizations based on results.
  • Assist in other digital team tasks as needed to raise awareness about Oxfam America, our issues, and campaigns and engage supporters in our work.

Qualifications

  • Certification in related field, Associates Degree, some studies in pursuit of Bachelor’s Degree, or a combination of education, experience, and training.
  • 3-5 years of email marketing experience with a proven track record of success.
  • Experience monitoring email list health and making improvements for deliverability.
  • Experience with eCRMs and email marketing platforms, such as HubSpot or Engaging Networks.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize workload and multi-task.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff.
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Collaborative work style to effectively work within cross functional teams to deliver high-quality digital communications on schedule.
  • Passion for communication as a means to fight the injustice of poverty.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Knowledge of and experience with communicating social justice issues for awareness-building, advocacy, and/or fundraising.

Exempt Union F - Digital Marketing and Engagement Specialist - $73,000 -77,000
