Avalon Consulting Group โ€“ a full-service fundraising consulting agency โ€“ is seeking a new Billings Assistant to collaborate with our dynamic client services teams and provide accounting support. As a member of our Finance team, you'll help us fulfill our mission by processing all client billings and cost accounting for our client campaigns, and assist with other internal functions including general bookkeeping tasks:

  • Process Client Billings by preparing client billings, logging vendor and Avalon invoices, maintaining accurate records, and preparing billing request forms.
  • Assist with Bookkeeping by using QuickBooks to post of cash receipts, deposits, expenses, or other transactions to journals or ledgers and verifies accuracy.ย  Coordinates company credit card program. Review invoices, bills, vouchers, or other documents for accuracy.
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable by inputting and processing invoice requests from client teams, and reimbursable client expenses. Submit all invoices to clients and/or teams, according to each client's instructions.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable by verifying and inputting all vendor invoices and ensuring all W-9's are up-to-date and on file.

We are pleased to offer a remote-first work environment. While Avalon has a headquarters office in Washington, DC, any staff member is welcomed to work from the comfort and safety of their home office in the DC/MD/VA area, with occasional travel required for team meetings, industry events/training, or company gatherings.

What We Need:

You will be a great fit for us if you possess at least two (2) years of accounting, billings, accounts payable or bookkeeping experience. You must also be fully proficient in using Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint. Prior experience using QuickBooks is also preferred. Prior experience using collaboration tools like Monday.com, Teams, and Zoom are a plus. You should also possess an off-the-charts ability to manage details, following processes and systems, and handle confidential information with discretion and care.ย ย  Eligible candidates will reside within a reasonable commuting distance (e.g.
