Corpay is looking for a Technical Product Owner to help continue our growth in the Corporate Payments line of business. The Technical Product Owner will play a leadership role in the Scrum team to ensure that features and enhancements are in-scope, on-time and of high quality. This Product Owner will lead our two Corpay WebService teams and should have a working knowledge and understanding of APIs (REST & SOAP), Webhooks and JavaScript (JSON). This team member will collaborate with both internal and external customers to gather requirements and communicate updates, so it is imperative to have an understanding of the payments industry (card services) in additional to APIs.
How We Work
As a Technical Product Owner you will be expected to work in a virtual environment. FLEETCOR will set you up for success by providing:
- Company-issued equipment + remote access

- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into product requirements.
- Document existing business processes/workflows and expected future state. Complete gap analysis to define features needed to transform from existing to future state.
- Author user stories with clearly articulated definition and acceptance criteria.
- Refine and approve backlog items to a âReady to Workâ state.
- Own the product backlog and prioritize it based on changing requirements.
- Play a leadership role in the Scrum team to ensure that capabilities are in-scope, on-time and of high quality, participating in all team ceremonies including standups, planning,
- Collaborate with support teams to help triage and prioritize defects into the backlog.
- Be the final decision maker for system feature implementation and responsible and accountable for the outcome
- Validate QA and production deployments in conjunction with IT, including testing REST or SOAP APIs.
- Effectively communicate product release contents and expected product capabilities.
- Assist with new feature documentation including release notes, user guides, FAQs, training documents and training webinars/demos.
- Set the short-term and long-term delivery target based on priorities and hit the target.
- Manage and communicate trade-offs and delivery dates with stakeholders when scope or priorities are adjusted.
- Work with stakeholders, Scrum team, Product Management and Product Design teams, to adjust priorities and expectations in order to maximize the business value delivered
- Serve as the primary source of external information for the Scrum teams, offering clear definitions of the targeted capability, the intended value to the customer and functional/non-functional requirements framing the scope of the capability capabilities/behavior to stakeholders
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated to perform at a high level, can think strategically to make sure their work aligns with business goals, is process oriented, and can effectively prioritize and manage tasks. The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant Product Owner, Product Manager or Technical Business
- Excellent project delivery skills with proven work experience participating in cross-functional teams
- Experience working with multiple scrum teams at the same time
- A Bachelorâs degree, with a preference for Computer Science, Business Management, Accounting or Finance
- MBA or PMP is an asset but not mandatory
- Experience gathering requirements, writing stories and defining acceptance criteria to build brand new APIs and Webhooks
- Experience with an international OR domestic payments company or similar industry
- Excellent communication skill for written, verbal and presentation/collateral mediums
- Software Release management experience is a huge asset
- Proven records of high-level productivity
- Experience with Agile Development Methodologies
- Experience managing cross functional teams is an asset
- CSPO is nice to have but not mandatory
- Jira, Confluence, AWS, Postman and GitLab experience is nice to have but not mandatory
