Tang Capital Management, LLC (Tang Capital) is a life sciences-focused investment firm with offices in San Diego and New York.
The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for the accounting and operations of various investment funds managed by Tang Capital. This individual will perform advanced accounting and reporting functions, monitor trading activities and liaise with third-party service providers, including prime brokers and trading desks. The Staff Accountant works closely with the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer to facilitate timely financial reporting to senior management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*
- Prepare daily position reporting, including reconciliation of all positions, cash movements and trading activity
- Monitor trading activities and process/resolve trade breaks by liaising with third-party service providers, including prime brokers and trading desks
- Assist with monitoring and processing corporate actions
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other reports to summarize financial results for senior management
- Assist in the calculation of management and performance fees
- Review, investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline required
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in investment/hedge fund accounting or auditing is required
- Experience at either (1) a Big 4 Company or (2) a hedge fund is preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Power Point) required
- Detail-oriented with ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment
- Organized and able to handle multiple deliverables simultaneously

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
