Responsibilities
We are currently seeking a leader for all social media marketing for Cigna and its sub-brands. The head of social media marketing will lead a team of dedicated experts with the shared goals of building Cigna’s brands, better serving our customers, driving business growth, and creating communities through expertise, great content, and spirited engagement.

We are looking for a leader with a deep understanding of social media including emerging social platforms, performance tools like social listening, and with experience developing tactics for the delivery of successful multi-channel social strategies. This role is responsible for ideating, curating, planning, developing and executing on the vision for our social media strategy, uncovering insights, driving and sharing results, and leading our passionate social media team.

The leader will partner with business marketers in Cigna’s Commercial, Government and Evernorth businesses to develop social strategies that support their marketing strategies and goals. The leader will also partner with communications and public affairs professionals on social strategies that build the reputation and influence of the enterprise brand. Organic and paid social are of equal importance to our brands and business, and the successful candidate will have a proven track record in both.

The leader will be a player/coach who is results-oriented and process-minded, analytical and creative, and a great collaborator across functions and agencies. Experience in health care is important, while a passion for health and wellness coupled with a love of content creation is essential.

Responsibilities
Lead, manage and inspire a team of social marketers, along with our social agency partners.
For each of our brands, develop and oversee social content and campaigns.
Drive growth, development, execution and measurement of the performance for all social media marketing across Cigna.
Develop social KPIs.
Create annual/quarterly editorial calendars and budgets.
Bring brand and product campaigns to life on the most appropriate and effective social platforms.
Manage agency relationships and vendor contracts with platform partners.
Manage annual organic social budget, forecasting, planning and tracking to optimize spend based on business objectives.
Lead company-wide processes and governance for social media, setting standards, policies and best practices for social media community management.
Partner closely with digital marketing, business marketing, integrated marketing, product marketing, brand, MarTech and agency partners to evolve and sustain effective social media programs.
Work iteratively and respond intelligently to changes in the business and market.
Communicate the team’s strategies, projects, progress, milestones and successes across the organization.
Monitor industry trends in social media channels, tools, and metrics and remain current on social media industry developments.
Monitor competitor behavior and campaigns in social, and develop strategies to out-maneuver them.
Drive talent strategy including recruitment, development, coaching and retention, all with a growth mindset.
Develop and mentor direct team to achieve defined goals.
Develop and nurture a high performance, modern marketing culture.

Qualifications should include
Bachelor’s degree in related discipline
10+ years’ experience in social marketing leadership, ideally within large, complex or global organization(s), agency experience is desirable
Deep passion for health, wellness, and content creation
Great taste in content
Experience in, or desire to grow understanding of health insurance, wellness and/or pharmacy benefits
Strong balance of creative and analytical thinking, with a mind that loves structure
Strong team management skills
Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, leveraging resources and expertise from around the company, at all levels.
Expert communicator (written and oral) with superior interpersonal skills; executive presence to interact w/ and influence Fortune level C-suite leaders
Experience managing multiple priorities and executing strategy within time, budget and quality standards.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 136,700 - 227,900 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
