Purpose of Job We are currently seeking a versatile Bank Marketing Decision Science Analyst, Senior for the San Antonio Home Office II/III, Plano, TX Office or Remote Work Location Available.



We have embarked on a modernization journey of our Bank Compliant Marketing Ecosystem (CME) Data and Analytics capabilities to drive significant improvements in our marketing and product acquisition strategy. You will join a team of dedicated decision science analysts to jointly collaborate with our CME business partners, Product Owners, Agile IT, Enterprise, and other data and analytics teams to simplify, automate and streamline marketing operational and analytics lifecycle management, customer experiences on digital and non-digital channels, Next Best Offers and Actions, marketing measurement and optimization, and product fulfillment journey analytics. The end result will also include knowledge of enabling sophisticated analytics to identify and improve personalization and insights integration into the ecosystem, leading to increased financial security for our customers, enablement of reporting to supervise and lead our compliance and controls, and reduction in overall risk.



Provide decision support for business areas across the enterprise. Staff in this area will be responsible for applying mathematical and statistical techniques and/or innovative /quantitative analytical approaches to draw conclusions and make 'insight to action' recommendations to answer business objectives and inspire change. The essence of work performed by the Decision Science Analyst involves gathering, manipulating and synthesizing data (e.g., attributes, transactions, behaviors, etc.), models and other relevant information to draw conclusions and make recommendations resulting in implementable strategies.

Primary Responsibilities:

Identifies and handles existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.

Integrates/transforms disparate data sources and resolves appropriate data hygiene techniques to apply.

Thoroughly documents assumptions, methodology, validation and testing to facilitate peer reviews and compliance requirements.

Understands and adopts emerging technology that can affect the application of scientific methodologies and/or quantitative analytical approaches to problem resolutions.

Succinctly delivers analysis/findings in a manner that conveys understanding, influences various levels of management, garners support for recommendations, drives business decisions, and influences business strategy.

Provides subject matter expertise in operationalizing recommendations.

Remains informed on current data and analytics trends, (Ex: Cloud, Data Mining, Python, Neural Networks, Sensor data, IoT, Streaming/NRT data)

Finds opportunities to continue to learn in the data and analytics space, whether informal (E.g., Coursera, Udemy, Kaggle, Code Up, etc) or formal (E.g. Certifications or advanced coursework).



Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in quantitative analytics field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Operations Research, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science or other quantitative subject area; OR 4 years of related experience in statistics, mathematics or quantitative analytics (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

6 years of data & analytics experience OR a minimum of 4 years of data & analytics experience and up to 2 years of dynamic functional business relevant experience within the respective industry of responsibility (i.e. P&C, Bank, Finance, Marketing etc.) for a total of 6 years combined experience OR advanced degree in quantitative analytics field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Operations Research, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science or other quantitative field and 4 years of experience in data/analytics or functional business experience within the respective industry of responsibility (i.e. P&C, Bank, Finance, Marketing, etc.).

Demonstrates advanced skills in mathematical and statistical techniques and approaches used to drive fact-based decision-making.

Advanced knowledge of data analysis tools, data visualization, developing analysis queries and procedures in SQL, SAS, BI tools or other analysis software, and relevant industry data & methods and ability to connect external insights to business problems.

Experience with new and emerging data sets, and incorporation (data wrangling, data munging) into new insights.



Preferred Qualifications:

Collaborate with cross-functional partners for data & analytics requirements collection, design, system integration, and business validation activities.

Analyze data requirements, identify risks and gaps, and help define features for IT to build operational and analytical capabilities.

Experience handling Omni-channel marketing data across web, mobile, email, contact center, social media, search and display channels, and data aggregation into a centralized repository.

Hands-on experience analyzing Marketing campaign & channel performance, and optimize costs, conversions and ROI using test & learn processes.

Hands-on experience with Cloud Data warehouse like Snowflake, BigQuery or similar platforms with SQL and Python proficiency.

Knowledge of modeling techniques as Marketing mix modeling, multi-touch attribution and predictive optimization.

Compensation:

USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $86,520 - $165,340.



Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
