The Repair the World Fellowship is a two year, full-time, salaried position for early career professionals, ages 21-26, who will spend their time in volunteer recruitment, program planning and implementation and professional development.

Position Overview

Repair the World is seeking an experienced recruiter to join our Immersive Service team as the Temporary Fellowship Recruiter from February 2023 - June 2023. Repair is looking for someone with experience and passion for recruitment who will help us research, develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates for the Repair the World Fellowship.  It is our goal that the recruiter ensures Repair the World is effectively recruiting for a full cohort of high performing fellows.

The Temporary Fellowship Recruiter will work closely with the immersive service team to guide them through the recruitment and hiring process, providing personalized support as needed. Our organization places fellows in 7 communities across the country.  Our recruiter will need the ability to help source for a wide-range of candidates. We are also committed to ensuring that our hiring practices are equitable and accessible which will be a high priority for this role as they work towards revamping and improving our process. The Fellowship Recruiter will support the Fellowship Director on sourcing, interviewing, hiring, onboarding and goal setting so some familiarity with these processes is a plus. Travel is required.

This position will be on Repair’s national team and report to the Senior Director of Immersive Service. This is a remote (US-based) position and will ideally be located in or adjacent to one of Repair’s communities (Atlanta, Baltimore, Bay Area, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Colorado, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Pittsburgh). 

Position Responsibilities and Scope of Work

  • Identify and implement equitable, transparent and effective recruiting and hiring methods for Fellowship candidates.
  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Immersive Service, and Fellowship Director, to support the immersive service team in all parts of the hiring process, including  from the initial creation of a job description through offer acceptance.
  • Screen candidates by reviewing resumes and job applications and perform informational interviews and first round screening interviews.
  • Take ownership of the initial candidate experience to ensure that candidates are communicated with at appropriate intervals and have a high quality experience as they enter the process.
  • Manage our applicant tracking system (Breezy), implementing improvements where necessary. 
  • Proactively reach out  to all leads and connect with a high volume of candidates from a wide range of diverse backgrounds. 
  • Schedule all interviews. 
  • Manage multi-channel recruiting process to fill a pipeline with a diverse pool of high quality candidates including search, internal recruiting, internet, employee referral, social networking, college recruiting, Hillel visits, internships, job fairs, etc.
  • Collaborate with Fellowship Director to develop efficient onboarding processes.

Position Requirements and Skills:

  • 3+ years of recruiting experience and managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process
  • Deep commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and passionate about equitable hiring practices
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment of a wide range of roles
  • Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems and HR databases (familiarity with Breezy a plus)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish effective and collaborative working relationships
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative and move projects forward
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment

Compensation

The annualized salary for this full-time, 4-5 month position is $70,000 for candidates with 3+ years of relevant experience. The salary will be prorated for the time the candidate is employed with Repair the World.  All travel expenses will be covered for work-related travel. Benefits package includes paid time off for service in addition to vacation and holidays, employer pays 100% for employee medical/dental/vision coverage and 50% for dependents, retirement matching, and professional development funds. In addition, employees that have been with Repair for at least six months are eligible for 16 weeks of paid parental leave.

  • Two professional references will be requested before the final round of the interview process.
