Proposal Writer/technical Writer 🔥
The Proposal Writer/Technical Writer will support the development of proposals, technical submissions, marketing content, and presentation data for our Engineers and Back Office operations. The Incumbent will work with the Chief Technology Officer and Capture Leads and create content according to the needs of the company, outbound communication goals, and other written support documentation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Chief Technology Officer and others on the proposal team to implement and refresh best practices and measurable, repeatable processes that result in winning proposals and meet organizational goals.
- Oversee corporate processes for writing and editing proposals and other technical documents, working collaboratively with the Chief Technology Officer and Capture Leads and operating divisions.
- Assist the Chief Technology Officer and Capture Leads by preparing proposal guides, artifacts, templates, examples, compliance matrices, and boilerplate text to maintain the comprehensive proposal knowledge management infrastructure.
- Collaborate with the Chief Technology Officer and Capture Leads to assemble appropriate proposal-related materials comprising kick-off packets, including compliance matrices, style guides, outlines, schedules, writing guidance, and presentations.
- Outline proposals, tie in the win themes, author appropriate proposal sections, and help design graphic concepts.
- Monitor active proposal schedules and brief the Chief Technology Officer with a weekly status report on progress toward schedule milestones.
- Provide administrative support for proposal meetings, including scheduling, distributing the agenda, and recording meeting notes.
- Ensure that all proposals and technical documents adhere to corporate standards for quality by consistently applying rigorous quality assurance procedures.
- Provide writing support for the internally monthly newsletter and other company communications.
Qualifications:
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Communications, English, Journalism or related major
- Experience in proposal/technical writing with minimum 1 year writing and editing Federal technical proposals
- Expertise in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & SharePoint) to produce reports, presentations, correspondence, and a variety of other material
- Knowledge of the federal contracting environment and procurement processes, including RFQ/RFP/RFI requirements
- Ability to work successfully and collaboratively in a matrix organization
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Must have the flexibility to work extended hours to include weekends when needed to complete proposals on schedule
- Employment is contingent upon successfully passing an employee background check and post-offer drug screen.
- SECRET clearance required or US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.

Desired Skills:
- Shipley or APMP certifications a huge plus
- Experience supporting research initiatives (SBIR, STTR)
- High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with a strong emphasis on InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
