Social Media Manager 🔥

ABOUT HAPPITY:

Happity [1] is a family friendly startup with a big mission! We're looking for a dynamic Social Media Manager to join our journey, helping new parents escape loneliness - especially on those long days spent as sole carer. We help parents connect in their communities by finding baby & toddler groups in their local area. This is a great time to join us as we expand across the UK!

We are a small team who are passionate about the work we do to end loneliness in new parents and we are proud of our achievements with our products. We have seen huge growth in the last year and currently have over 1m website users a year, approaching 100k parents subscribers to our mailing list, and over 26k active classes.

We work remotely and flexibly and this important new role will help us take Happity's marketing to the next level, bringing Happity to a wider national audience.

If you have proven experience growing social media followings, are creative, innovative, detail driven and experienced in reporting then we want to hear from you!

ABOUT YOU:

As you'll be working in a remote team, you'll need to be very self-motivated, able to manage your own time and an exceptional communicator! You'll also need to be available some weekends and evenings for engagement on posts.

You're someone who loves what Happity is about, you share our mission and want to make a positive difference in the world. You have a passion for helping us to grow as a brand.

You'll already have experience of growing a social media audience under your belt - whether that's been in a work capacity or other environment (such as voluntary or personal projects).

You don't need to be a parent to apply for this role, but you do need to demonstrate a sound knowledge of the market for baby & toddler classes - and in particular, what kind of content would appeal to an audience of new parents!

WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES:

You will manage our social media presence, be responsible for generating content for social media, website, brand assets, advertising and more so that we can improve our brand awareness, customer responsiveness and ultimately make an even greater impact with our product.

The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Creating a social media content strategy to fit within our marketing strategy
  • Creating, scheduling and engaging on posts and stories (currently on Instagram and Facebook)
  • Managing our Facebook Group to build community
  • Reporting on progress and improving strategy
  • Supporting or managing campaigns

It may also include:

  • Blog, Website and Advertising creation
  • Assisting with PR and other marketing tasks including engaging with influencers

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

What we're hoping to see highlighted on your CV and application:

Essential:

  • Social Media Strategy & Management - to be able to deliver on Happity's commercial and impact-driven goals. You'll be responsible for managing our online community of providers and parents, analysing and reporting social media activity (this should be using software such as Later or Buffer.) Reporting is across all channels - on acquisition, engagement, top-performing content etc. You would attend and contribute to monthly marketing meetings to shape the marketing strategy for the brand, discuss and review upcoming content, and review marketing campaigns.
  • Design - you will also have some experience with design software such as Canva, have an eye for design and fantastic attention to detail, being comfortable to edit, repurpose and create imagery, graphics and video / animations for use across our channels
  • Startup mentality: While we're an established, scaling organisation, we work very much like a lean, agile startup. You need to be great at prioritising (and knowing which corners to cut) - and working closely with a tight-knit, small team.
  • Passion for social media: You need to have in-depth knowledge of social media channels and a proven track record of creating and sustaining online communities.
  • Creativity: We are looking for a person with loads of creativity and new ideas to improve our content, whether written, image or video. You will have fantastic copy-writing skills across both short-form (social media posts, ad copy etc) and long-form content (blogs, articles, press releases) and lots of good ideas! We are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal English language skills for the position.
  • Analytical, customer-driven mindset: You're able to use your analytical brain to spot trends and identify opportunities for future activity. Alongside this you will be involved in analysing the SEO performance of our website content, identifying relevant keywords and ensuring our content targets those effectively.
  • Ability to learn new tools: You must be able to learn how to use new marketing tools with ease. Experience with HTML and website Content Management Systems as well as experience using email service providers (we use Active Campaign and Mailerlite currently) and CRM systems is a strong plus, but not a requirement for the job.
  • Purpose driven: We're making real social impact. We truly believe in what we're doing and want you to be part of that.

Desirable:

  • You have experience managing paid advertising (Facebook, Google etc.)
  • You have good knowledge of site analytics tools (Google Analytics)
  • You have experience in PR and Partnerships
  • You have experience growing early-stage companies to post Series A in the consumer space
  • You have experience in a parenting company or digital solutions

All applicants should mention the word "Firework" to show they've read the requirements ;-)

Benefits and reasons why the role might appeal:

  • Work closely with the Founders of a purpose-led, exciting and fast-growing parentings brand
  • Join a friendly and fun marketing team made up of a mix of freelancers and part-time employees
  • Opportunity to provide key strategic input to key marketing and business strategies
  • Opportunity to work remotely and flexible, with unlimited holiday
  • Growth opportunity: as Happity grows there will be opportunity for the role to further expand
