We are expanding our team to support the Edward Jones Enterprise Data Governance capability. The Enterprise Data Governance Framework enables the firm to maximize the ability to generate value through its data in a structured, consistent, scalable, and trusted manner. Data Stewardship roles are a tangible function of the firm's data governance framework – ensuring our data is cared for through its complete lifecycle, as an enterprise asset. Data stewards partner across the firm to ensure data is created, managed and effectively utilized as trusted enterprise assets – which leads to understood, controlled and reliable data.

This function partners closely with the Data Governance Center of Excellence and is responsible to mature and scale our data stewardship community.

The Data Enablement and Stewardship Lead Analyst will partner with data stewards to facilitate data certification, the use of metadata playbooks, standards and policies, and support the overall data stewardship community in managing the ongoing health of our data assets. This team will work closely with business stakeholders and technology partners to champion a data-centric culture and ensure we have an engaged and empowered a community of data allies and stewards around our business data domains.

What you'll do:
  • Be a change agent for data literacy and collaborate with different parts of the organization to advance and mature our data governance posture via our stewardship community
  • Partner with team members to establish and activate the data stewardship experience
  • Partner with team members to identify, activate and support stewardship programs, and utilize metadata management tools, data quality tools, etc to operationalize and scale our data governance capabilities
  • Help define, implement, and support our data stewardship operating model
  • Partner with the Data Governance COE to define key performance indicators to monitor and track the health and growth of our data assets and team effectiveness
  • Ensure best practices are being leveraged and enforced in firm initiatives via the stewardship community, which requires partnering closely with the Data Governance COE (center of excellence)
  • Lead the execution of change management, communication, training, and education initiatives
  • Develop and manage business relationships with leaders across the organization as an advocate of Data Governance and Stewardship
  • Provide thought leadership and creativity to partner with team leaders and other lead analysts to align the work of the team to the overall strategy of Data Governance
What you'll need:
  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably in the areas of finance, business, analytics or information systems
  • Ability to connect business processes to data production and analytics usages
  • Ability to prioritize different data governance and management initiatives in a way that maximizes analytics outcomes for the firm
  • Motivated to understand and keep current with Data, Analytics and Business Intelligence industry trends, Data Governance, and best practices
  • Other demonstrated technical depth and experience should include the following:
  • Understand the application of various data models in complex technical landscape
  • Experience understanding and writing requirements for both relational and dimensional database architectures and data elements
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum principles and execution in addition to use of tools such as Jira to support the framework

  • An advanced degree in in the areas of finance, business, analytics or information systems
  • 7+ years general business experience in marketing, finance, data analytics, or information systems fields
  • Proven leadership of others through demonstrated ability to influence
  • Proven knowledge of data governance best practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets
  • Strong communication, both written and verbal, and ability to drive change
  • Working knowledge of financial products and services
  • Proven project management skills with ability to formulate, define and execute tasks towards completion of project objectives and timeline

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:
