Payroll Accountant- Contract Remote 🔥
Transaction Network Services Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Accountant. The Payroll Accountant will assist with processing the semi-monthly payroll for approximately 600+ employees in a multi-state environment utilizing the ADP Workforce Now software application and international payroll for approximately 200+ employees utilizing ADP Streamline in 18 countries. Responsibilities Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with the processing of a semi-monthly payroll for US salaried and hourly employees and monthly payroll for international employees to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on-time
- Ensure accurate data entry of employee changes including but not limited to tax forms and direct deposit authorizations forms
- Respond to garnishment summons from the courts and set-up as required in the payroll system
- Responsible for assisting with the extract of data from the time and attendance system and uploading in the payroll system
- Assist with the auditing of payroll to ensure proper transmission
- Process stop payments and ACH reversals
- Facilitate consistent and timely resolution of employee issues, concerns and questions by responding to internal customers
- Solve complex payroll issues relating to multi-state locations and associated taxes
- Work closely with Corporate Accounting to ensure an accurate payroll interface to the general ledger system and other payroll related journal entries for month end close
- Assist with generating reports on a regular or on demand basis to support payroll processing and other requirements associated with year-end
- Participate in audits of payroll-related activity, including compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Assist the global payroll manager with year-end W2 reporting, federal and state tax filings
- Interface with HR team and management regarding payroll questions and employee requirements
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Maintain payroll files to ensure they are secure and easily retrievable

- 4-6 years' payroll experience in a multi-state environment
- 2-3 years’ payroll experience with international payroll
- Canadian payroll experience preferred
- Working knowledge of auditing concepts and controls, pay calculations regarding overtime, pre-tax deductions
- Experience must include multi-state and international payroll processing is preferred
- Bachelor Degree in Business preferred or an Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- FPC preferred and/or CPP Certification
- ADP Workforce Now software experience including ADP Data Bridge and Custom Reports.
- ADP Streamline experience for international payroll processing preferred
- Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access, Word).
- Work Day experience a plus
