Sales Department Manager - Commercial Energy & Environmental Consulting - Remote 🔥


The Center for EcoTechnology is looking for a Sales Department Manager - Commercial Energy & Environmental Consulting - Remote serving MA and New England to lead a team of staff who conduct outreach to commercial businesses and contractors to enroll them in energy efficiency, waste reduction, and other environmental services. The Sales Department Manager is a role for someone who is excited to lead a team that will meet customers where they are and serve as friendly, approachable ambassadors for adopting solutions that help mitigate climate change, save money, and improve health.


Activities

Lead

  • Establish sales goals and objectives, develop strategies to increase sales volumes, and manage sales pipelines and processes for multiple clients and programs.
  • Develop individual team members with a coaching mindset through motivation, counseling, skills development, and technical knowledge development.
  • Champion CET’s DEI initiative and nurture a healthy and inclusive team culture.
  • Be responsible for recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new staff.
  • Understand, disseminate, and ensures team’s compliance with standard policies and protocols.

Collaborate

  • Work comfortably and collaboratively across CET’s matrix structure and liaise with project managers and other department managers to ensure goals are met and resources are properly allocated to different projects and programs.
  • Participate as a leader in team meetings and CET staff meetings.

Requirements

  • Belief in CET’s environmental non-profit mission and commitment to building an equitable and inclusive culture.
  • Minimum of 5 years proven sales management success, including supervision of teams, and a successful track-record of managing teams to quantitative goals and sales targets.
  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize competing important activities while remaining calm and maintaining team morale, focus, and performance.
  • Ability to adopt and effectively use technology platforms to support the work, including MS Office and CRM software. Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and in a manner that persuades your audience and wins their confidence and trust.

What You Offer

Qualified candidates should have a commitment to the non-profit community mission of CET. Bachelor's degree or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years proven sales management success including supervision of inside and outside sales teams. Must be able to set clear goals and create a team environment. Strong computer skills in MS Office and CRM software required, Salesforce experience preferred. You must be well-organized, be able to work independently and track and report results. You will need a professional appearance and communication style to be effective in the business sector.


Excellent communication skills, the ability to listen well, and the ability to close on sales. We are looking for experience with selling technical services You must be able to meet sales goals. Ability to make persuasive sales presentations. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Work style should be flexible, reliable, self-directed, and have a proficient work ethic. Must have leadership skills. Reliable, hardworking, trustworthy. Passion for the environment, community involvement, and a desire to make a difference in a not-for-profit industry is a big plus.
