social Media Specialist - Public Relations & Marketing 🔥

The Social Media Specialist is responsible for developing and executing an overall social media strategy to support Keck Medicine of USC. This strategy includes an evaluation followed by articulating goals, drafting policies, audience growth, engagement, focused messaging, identifying KPIs and a plan that will support multiple social media initiatives already on-going within the organization.

Day-to-day activities include maintaining content calendars, developing and posting original content, leveraging current digital assets, monitoring social channels and developing and/or participating in the process of responding to both positive and negative comments. Responsibilities also include working across teams to field social media requests and propose solutions that adhere to social media strategy; monitoring and sharing social media analytics with larger team; and collaborating with Digital Marketing, Content, and PR to promote various content initiatives.

The annual base salary range for this position is $60,320- $94,020. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations

Minimum Education: -Bachelor's degree in new media/digital journalism, public relations, communications, marketing or related field required Minimum Experience/Knowledge: - Examples of successful social media communities and digital assets of brands or organizations candidate has recently managed. -In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective audiences (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube) and how they can be deployed. -Experience managing and monitoring review platforms such as Yelp, Google. Facebook. etc -Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking and time management with on-time delivery is critical to success -Experience in social media analytics and Google Analytics -Experience utilizing social media tools for sentiment analysis and reputation management -Ability to interpret social media analytics, website traffic and sentiment analysis to propose strategy and content ideas by platform -Experience writing for social media platforms -The ideal candidate has strong verbal and written communication skills -Ability to develop engaging content -Attention to detail and ability to multitask -Positive attitude and a desire to continue learning and growing in career and expertise Required License/Certification: -Valid California state driver’s license. -Fire and Safety Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
