Job Title: Vice President, Global Marketing - HOKA Reports to: President, HOKA Location: Remote US The Role: Design and lead the global HOKA Brand Marketing strategy to create brand heat, drive brand strength, inspire consumer engagement, and deliver commercial results. Influence how global consumers think about and connect with HOKA as a fast-growing performance brand, steering the business through the next inflection point and phase of global growth. Architect and oversee the implementation of scalable global brand and product marketing strategies in close partnership with Omni Channel marketing teams that advance the Brand’s visibility, distribution, and global market share; Ensure synergy of marketing across brand categories and partnership with product and global sales functions, fostering consistent global brand presentation with distinct DNA; Strategically leverage and integrate consumer insights to enable tailored and regionally relevant messages in alignment with seasonal product plans; Act as creative driver of Brand marketing vision, voice, and guidelines for HOKA’s global audience; Oversee HOKA’s to be AOR, production houses and in-house “creative agency”, as well as product marketing, brand communications, PR, and marketing operations functions.
Your Impact:
Marketing Strategy & Category Marketing
  • Oversee the design and implementation of consumer-focused short and long-term global brand marketing strategies based on comprehensive market & consumer insights and intuition, understanding of global consumer nuances, product category strategies, and profit drivers of the business
  • Provide thought leadership in the creation of 360 marketing plans that deliver globally relevant solutions and integration across relevant marketing platforms, including PR, advertising, brand communications, social media, influencer programs, etc.; Enable the delivery of meaningful brand messages to global retailers and consumers, incorporating the voice of the consumer into all marketing initiatives while maintaining integrity of brand messaging
  • Lead product marketing function and the development of category marketing strategies and programs in partnership with Brand, Product, US Wholesale and Omni Channel teams, including the development of annual marketing roadmaps and seasonal creative marketing collateral in support of GTM plans and key product stories
  • Ensure strategies and plans drive and increase customer Acquisition, loyalty & CRM
  • Leverage global competitive insights to identify key trends, understand shifts in market direction, and inform marketing strategy and operating plans
  • Embed a dynamic model of marketing orchestration across Brand, US Wholesale and Omni Channel teams to deliver best-in-class creative and brand experiences, tailored to HOKA’s unique needs.
  • Track, analyze and own marketing program effectiveness and ROI for initiatives
  • Lead, define and communicate brand marketing processes to ensure clear, strong and regular connection with global markets; establish communication framework within the matrix organization
  • Partner with VP Product and Sr Director Commercial Strategy to create future brand partnerships, collaborations and sponsorships
Creative Brand Marketing
  • Lead and oversee global Brand Communications and PR, including the design and implementation of a carefully curated and coherent global content, media relations, and advertising narrative & strategy (Mass/Digital/Social/Mobile) that elevates the HOKA brand across all global touchpoints, including holistic campaigns, social media and influencer programs; Ensure integrated communication plans and calendars that support brand and product stories
  • Creative and Production House agency management: lead and oversee AOR and in-house creative agency, including development of global creative brand guidelines, templates, assets, etc.; Drive a culture of creativity, enabling marketing team to conceptualize and deliver industry-defining and trend-right marketing experiences
  • Ensure consistent expression of DNA and brand voice across all mediums and marketing channels
  • Set global brand marketing standards, guidelines, and language; Provide creative direction to creative studio and global marketing teams
  • Oversee the development of creative collateral in support of global go-to-market plans, ensuring scalability for region and channel needs.
  • Establish, negotiate, and maintain ongoing relationships with key brand partners, i.e., ad agencies, P.R. agencies, etc.
  • Brand & Seasonal campaigns, Partner with US Wholesale and Omni Channel team to ensure creative brand marketing alignment for regional application, including International Distributors on HOKA requirements
Innovation & Best Practices
  • Strategically challenge HOKA marketing team and business partners to infuse a culture and mindset for continuous improvement and innovation to strategy, process, thinking, technology, creativity, and general business activity, ensuring HOKA embraces best-in-class marketing practices and methodology
  • Foster an open environment where employees at all levels are encouraged to contribute, engage in constructive discourse, and express their talents through collaborative problem solving and decision making
  • Introduce and institutionalize best practices for brand marketing to improve efficiency and profitability; Leverage partnership and knowledge sharing across brand portfolio
  • Travel annually or as deemed necessary to key global markets to stay current on global trends, and ensure brand marketing consistency across regions and channels; Keep abreast of new and best practices in branding, marketing, marketing technology, innovation, and industry-wide standards
People Leadership
  • Instill and reinforce the highest standards for collaboration and teamwork within HOKA brand marketing team and across the Deckers’ brand portfolio, with the goals of identifying synergies, fostering idea sharing, and establishing common goals for profitable growth and continuous innovation
  • Develop, motivate and retain high potential talent; Ensure development plans are in place to create a bench of highly effective marketing leaders and a robust succession pipeline

We love to hear from people with:
Education/Experience:
  • 15+ years similar executive-level marketing experience in a combination of 3 or more of the following areas: global brand marketing, branding, digital marketing, product/category marketing, creative services, etc., including at least 8+ years in an executive management function over a team of 10+ employees
  • Demonstrated experience in a brand marketing leadership role in multiple global markets preferred (APAC, EMEA, Americas)
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent combination education/experience; MBA preferred
  • Demonstrated experience creating brand and category marketing strategies for a global audience with multiple distribution channels (retail, wholesale, ecommerce) exceeding $500M+; Performance athletic industry experience (Men’s, Women’s & Kids), footwear experience preferred
  • Agency management including AOR search and onboarding
  • Experience managing and influencing across a complex matrix organization
  • Experience managing marketing budgets in excess of $20M
  • Demonstrated experience developing creative marketing solutions, long-term strategic marketing plans, and creative strategies/briefs aligned with long term global organization and brand goals
  • Demonstrated understanding of evolving digital and social marketing platforms, technology, and tools, including integrated digital platforms and channels that maximize best-in-class creative
  • Demonstrated experience driving marketing expertise through the GTM process, and influencing across a matrix organization to achieve results
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and adhering to marketing KPI and ROI guidelines, including expert understanding of marketing metrics, consumer insights, market research, trends analysis, etc.
  • Expert understanding of competitive landscape and Omni Channel environment, with strong knowledge of the global footwear industry and its consumers
  • Demonstrated presentation skills at the executive level, with experience influencing and motivating senior level audiences (sales meetings, key accounts, internal teams, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience shaping and developing highly motivated and effective teams; Experience establishing and embedding new process and operational guidelines
  • Proven experience driving marketing and brand innovation, as well as passion for consumer engagement, through emerging methodologies and technology
  • Advanced analytical skills; ability to interpret and translate consumer data into actionable insights and strategies
  • Knowledge of agile working methodologies
