The Opioid Epidemic is a public health crisis with a highly effective but underutilized clinical intervention - millions of Americans are physically dependent on Opioids but only 10% of those likely to have OUD actually access treatment. Bicycle Health addresses this gap by maximizing accessibility, affordability, and overall quality of care by enabling highly qualified clinicians to reach patients broadly and efficiently through our online platform.

Bicycle Health is looking for a talented Controller for our growing finance team. The Controller is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the Company, including accurate and timely financial reporting, planning and analysis, accounting, internal controls, financial policy development, budgeting and modeling, reforecasting, audit, tax, strategic investment, acquisitions, credit, and compliance. The Controller will report to the VP Finance and will directly manage the Accounting Manager, IT & Procurement Specialist as well as external accounting and tax resources.
You can expect to:

  • Build the financial infrastructure, systems, processes, and automation to manage growth
  • Own the full-cycle monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close processes; prepare financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
  • Ensure quick close process with SLA's no greater than 8 business days
  • Manage all intercompany accounting and transactions ensure appropriate classification of assets and liabilities related to the company's multiple reporting entities
  • Ensure appropriate flow of funds, in accordance with the management services agreement, to support accounting, tax and compliance reporting
  • Coordinate with external audit teams and tax specialists for year-end audit and tax filings
  • Implement and maintain appropriate internal controls
  • Review and refine revenue recognition policies and procedures related to Self Pay and Commercial Revenue
  • Optimize systems data configuration and reporting to enable revenue and gross margin reporting on a state, region and payor/contract basis
  • Review, maintain and renew all insurance (general liability, medical malpractice, cyber security, etc), business licenses, etc.
  • Provide reporting, analytics, and financial support for day-to-day operations
  • Support the team in attaining financial targets consistent with growth objectives
  • Act as primary tax lead for the Company
  • Own all stock administration activities, ensuring all grants are issued and recorded in accordance with the employee stock ownership plan
  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Provide leadership and coaching to team members to successful outcomes, by consistently achieving business objectives and by building high performing teams through skill and competency development
  • Additional ad hoc analyses and projects as needed

Qualities we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's (or Master's) Degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA required
  • 7+ years of related accounting experience, preferably with several years in both public accounting and startups
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading teams
  • US GAAP expertise, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), principles of consolidation, stock based compensation, and other technical accounting matters
  • Experience with intercompany/consolidation accounting
  • Experience with private fundraising processes as well as initial public offerings
  • The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, able to work independently, comfortable building out processes from scratch in a fast-paced startup environment, and have strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in Netsuite, FloQast, Bill.com, Carta and G-Suite
