Description and Requirements

JOB SUMMARY: As WCG’s Content Marketing & Social Media Specialist, you’ll be responsible for writing engaging content and sparking conversations on social media channels to engage stakeholders. As a key member of the WCG corporate marketing team, you’ll lead the development and management of content calendars and thought leadership campaigns, and use social media tactics to drive engagement, lead generation and brand awareness. Supporting integrated marketing efforts, you’ll work both independently and collaboratively with members of operational divisions and the broader marketing team to write, produce, and distribute breakthrough thought leadership content — on-time, on-brand, on-trend.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Social Media Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations,
Advertising, or a related field and/or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience creating brand-level social media content at an agency or on an internal creative team; experience in the healthcare and/or clinical trials industry preferred
  • 3+ years of professional or personal experience with graphic design and copywriting for social media
  • A portfolio that showcases your experience creating original, breakthrough social media content that drives engagement
  • Exceptional copy writer/editor
  • Relevant creative experience working with scientific, technology and/or data solutions is a plus
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to enable productive, influential, and trustworthy working relationships with fellow creators, clients, partners, and cross-functional team members
  • Team player with ability to work across all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency with social media channels and tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
  • Collaborate with WCG marketing leaders and subject matter experts to establish thought leadership and social media calendars
  • Strengthen WCG’s brand by developing our tone of voice and writing engaging copy for a variety of mediums
  • Leverage your experience and knowledge of social media best practices and trends to create social content that is on-trend, engaging, meets business goals, and aligns to the brand style and voice
  • Be a self-starter who can work independently or collaboratively with a team of creators and project managers
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitors’ content, new technology, emerging channels, and content marketing and social media best practices
  • Identify trends and insights and make recommendations to optimize WCG’s online presence and engagement
  • Measure and report performance of content marketing campaigns and social presence
  • Collaborate with our internal team of thought leaders, designers, videographers, and digital marketers to develop and distribute content and campaigns that support established goals
  • Provide social media listening/topic reporting as necessary
  • Contribute to paid digital (social, display, search) campaign development, execution and reporting
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here
