Backend Development Engineer
About the role
The Mobile Engineering team is responsible for native iOS and Android applications, which help customers track, forecast, and predict revenue on the go. Building new features for our client's mobile customers requires elegant and performant APIs for clients to consume. Our client's mobile products contain data driven dashboards, team activity metrics, opportunity and forecasting management, messaging, and much more to come.
We are looking for Software Engineers to build and design mobile-optimized APIs to power our client's innovative experiences on a contract basis. They are 100% cloud-native and build their product using reliable tools and technologies that our team knows and trusts, including Java, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and AWS. Experience in these areas are a huge plus, but having familiarity with common web languages (Such as Python or Ruby) and other databases are fine substitutes.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain APIs and services to support mobile product
offerings
- Shape future proof interfaces that are easy to build against and meet the requirements
of client-facing teams
- Mentor engineers earlier in their technical careers to help them grow
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
Qualifications
- Strong technical background, including 5+ years of experience building impactful
large-scale products or systems using Java or a similar object-oriented language
- Experience with GraphQL is a plus
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, data stores, data modeling, indexing and associated trade-offs
- Excellent communicator. Explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support, and other engineers is no problem for you
- Built observable systems that track important metrics, investigated and addressed
issues with performance, scalability, and maintainability

Pay: $50.00 - $56.00 per hour
