Data Analyst – Target Marketing 🔥

Are you an experienced Data Analyst ready to partner with the Global Demand Center (GDC) marketing team to direct how Microsoft competes globally? Cloud technologies have disrupted the marketplace and are now part of a fast-paced, exciting industry. This is your opportunity to be at the center of the action and make an impact as a Targeting Strategy and Operations analyst with Microsoft’s Account Based Marketing team.

As a Data/Process Analyst, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with partners across the marketing ecosystem to drive the insights that refine and evolve ABM marketing programs. You possess the technical and analytical capability to work with the data as well as the attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness in the operational aspects of this role. You are eager to learn more about the operational aspects of marketing from both the business and technical perspectives.

Job responsibilities will include:

  • Working with business stakeholders to define targeting requirements for marketing campaigns
  • Using a variety of tools and dashboards to pull data and prepare market sizing analyses
  • Creating target lists and managing processes for distributing to appropriate stakeholders
  • Acting as an interface between business stakeholders and BI teams to supply business requirements
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to re-design operational processes to reduce manual steps
  • Creating documentation and helping socializing process changes

Required Skills – Must have all of the following:

  • Experience in analysis or finance supporting sales or marketing, marketing technology management, or marketing business management
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Must have experience and strength in working with business stakeholders to ask the right questions, be customer facing and be able to talk with both technical and non-technical audiences, able to track down who has the data or the answer needed.
  • Experience coordinating and working with data engineering teams
  • Extremely strong collaboration, communication, and follow-through skills
  • Motivated, highly entrepreneurial, and comfortable with ambiguity in a dynamic environment
  • Must have experience documenting processes to enhance the team’s value in the organization

Technical requirements:

    • Power user / very advanced with Excel and Power Pivot.
    • Comfortable with either Power BI or SQL.
    • Experience working with very large (several million rows) data sets, able to manipulate, extract and analyze data.

Desired Skills – not required, but very helpful

  • Experience with marketing campaign / customer analytics and intelligent targeting
  • Azure Synapse. modeling, and Starlight
  • Experience as a Technical Project Manager, planning, managing stakeholders, milestones, status reporting, and process documentation
  • Writing SQL queries, doing analysis, writing reports, generating data and seeing the problems with the data
  • Experience with account-based marketing and/or marketing campaign analytics / datasets.
  • Understanding Marketo data, and/or GDCs use of that data
  • Dynamics, BizApps, Modern Workplace or Azure marketing experience at Microsoft
  • Business analysis and reporting experience within Microsoft (Microsoft work experience)
