General Summary/ Overview:

This position will manage Social Media for the central Marketing and Communications Department at Mass General Brigham. He/she/they will form an integrated strategy for the system approach for paid social media.

  • Build and implement social media strategies for social media channels across system
  • Evaluate, integrate, and manage new partners, tools and resources
  • Lead sharing of best practices in social with newly formed COE
  • Manage entity pages including Brigham and Women’s Hospital and others




Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a social media strategy that aligns with the key priorities and mission of the organization and aligns with the broader enterprise-level Mass General Brigham strategic marketing plan.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of social media projects from conceptualization to completion. Maintain accountability for overall quality of social media work.
  • Work in close collaboration with digital agencies to develop and maintain a cohesive social media experience across all platforms.
  • Develop and execute the social media strategy that supports the overall marketing strategy and campaigns at the system and local hospital levels.
  • Effectively collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders to ensure integration and coordination of all social media efforts across the enterprise.
  • Create and execute social media content that leverages consumer insights, supports MGB campaigns and service line campaigns, and engages target consumers.
  • Oversee social listening trends and insights and recommend new and/or revised tactics and responses.
  • Collaborate with external communications team to leverage content as it related to the news cycle.
  • Develop and regularly monitor social media best practices and educate and guide others in the marketing and communications areas to improve efforts.
  • In collaboration with performance analytics team, track, measure and understand the effectiveness of strategies, content and social channels to adjust strategies and tactics in order to improve performance.
  • Develop and execute paid social paid that support broader campaigns and strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a social media/digital marketing role
  • In depth knowledge of different social media channels
  • Good knowledge and experience with best practices and content management systems
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or similar relevant field

Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with cross functional teams including staff at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to successfully negotiate and collaborate with others of different skill sets, backgrounds and levels within and external to the organization
  • Strong problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Requires minimal direction from leadership and possesses the ability to learn quickly

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • 1 direct, 1 contractor

Fiscal Responsibility:

  • No direct budgetary responsibility
  • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by effectively using Mass General Brigham resources

Working Conditions:

  • Possible local travel to Mass General Brigham sites
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk; or hear; use hands to finger; handle; or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop; kneel; or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Normal office working conditions. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.
