It Director, Supply Chain Software Engineering - 100% Virtual π₯
This leader is responsible for managing a team of experienced Software Engineers while establishing and improving our delivery methodology and technical standards. They will actively partner with Product Delivery Leads and Product Teams to create, prioritize, and deliver product and technical roadmaps
The right candidate will be able to seamlessly navigate between deep technical solutioning, strategic product planning, and mentoring direct reports. They will bring this diverse set of skills together to consistently deliver quality software that is innovative and supportable. Flexible Work Policy: The IT Director, Supply Chain Software Engineering position has been segmented as Remote Anywhere meaning the work is completed 100% remote/virtual anywhere in the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Play a critical role in the management of transforming our supply chain stack from a custom COBOL-based core with bolt-ons to a well-integrated modern cloud platform.
- Partner with other department leaders to provide comprehensive near and long-term support models for all applications in the portfolio.
- Identify and evaluate new emerging technologies and concepts that enrich and elevate US Foods digital capabilities.
- Prototype and productization of new concepts/ideas in an agile way.
- Coach product delivery teams to ensure standards are followed, advise on technical approach, and remove impediments.
- Grow our product-oriented delivery model and ensure a consistent agile delivery approach.
- Lead a team of highly talented software engineers
- Hire, train, and oversee performance goals and provide coaching and mentoring to aspiring engineering leaders.
- Other duties as assigned by manager
SUPERVISION: 3-5 direct reports and contractor firms
QUALIFICATIONS Education/Training: B.S. in Computer Science required; Master’s Degree preferred
Related Experience/Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years IT experience, including 4 years managing software engineering teams.
- Experience leading large-scale agile software projects and owning a product throughout its lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
- Experience with hiring, attracting, motivating, coaching, retaining, and developing engineers and their leaders.
- Experience partnering with software, services, and talent vendors.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong design and architectural skills and have proven record in building scalable systems.
- Motivated by solving complex business and technical problems.
- Proven ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management.
- Knowledge of DevOps concepts, telemetry and alerting. Familiarity with agile development and test-driven development.
- Knowledge of web and mobile application engineering technologies including Angular, Node.js, and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of database and data integration technologies including MongoDB, MySQL, Kafka, and Mulesoft.
- Demonstrates excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements: Up to 20% travel
The following information is provided in accordance with the Colorado Pay Equity Act. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. In Colorado, the expected compensation for this role is between $118,600 and $150,000. This role is also eligible for annual incentive plan bonus.
