Job Description:

Our NYC agency is seeking strategic-minded candidates to lead our social content discipline. This role is a leadership position within our Concept + Content department, which is composed of skilled content creators including art directors, designers, social media managers, producers, editors, copywriters and community managers.

We create digital-first marketing systems for brands. We’re behavior change experts who solve business challenges by creating meaningful connections with consumers.

The Social Content Lead will own agency’s social strategy recommendations, social content creation and day-to-day management of the social media managers and community managers. Your main focus will be a portfolio of national spirit brands. You will also provide thought-leadership to other CPG and DTC clients as needed.

We are looking for someone with social experience beyond just creating content calendars. With our agency, Social Media is integrated in all of our marketing programs and is a critical way we build our clients’ brands. In this role you will collaborate across disciplines from Creative, to Media, to Analytics. Candidates will need to provide strong POVs based on your knowledge of consumer insights, creative thinking, media tactics, and the latest social trends.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead Social Content Creation (50%)

  • Own end-to-end process for creating Social Media Campaigns from constructing briefs, to leading brainstorms, and evaluating creative
  • Work daily with the Social Media Managers & Community Managers to ensure seamless execution of all Social content
  • Monitor weekly progress and ensure the team is on track to meet client deliverables
  • Mentor your direct reports and provide evaluation and guidance on their work
  • Collaborate with content creators and oversee influencer relationships to ensure final creative meets brand standards and strategic goals
  • Understand paid social and collaborate with the media team to identify posts for promotion
  • Responsible for staying on top of Social industry trends, emerging platforms, platform updates, industry best practices, product betas, and research
  • Oversees all scoping and financial management for Social and its programs

Lead Social Strategy (50%)

  • Act as the strategic advisor on Social and collaborate with Accounts, Creative, & Media teams to develop and execute best-in-class integrated marketing campaigns
  • Create innovative Social Media Content that further clients’ goals
  • Develop Social strategies and positioning for brands including: goals, tone, topics, frequency, and kpis
  • Orchestrate Social-lead programs such as influencer programs or live streams
  • Lead the Social team’s communication with clients including: weekly meetings, strategy presentations, recaps, and ad-hoc questions
  • Partner with the Media team to make recommendations on Social ads
  • Partner with the Analytics team to evaluate social performance and develop reports for clients
  • Keep internal team and clients up to date with the latest trends and capabilities across social channels

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7+ years of relevant Social Media experience at an agency
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to evangelize ideas internally & externally
  • Including at least one role where you lead a Social Media Team
  • Must have experience working on CPG brands
  • Well-versed in the major social media channels
  • A base knowledge of Ad types across Social Channels
  • Experience evaluating and reporting on Social content performance
  • A passion for Internet culture and an understanding of trends
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Willing to support brands on Social outside of regular business when needed (e.g. activating social for special events, IG Lives etc.)
  • Detail oriented + time management skills

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience working with beer, wine, liquor or DTC brands
  • Experience creating content for millennial focused brands
  • Experience with ad buying on Social
